Switzerland and France - Ideas Please
Ahoy hoy,
Ideas are forming for Switzerland and France. Plans are to hit the UK for christmas (yes I have loads of time to plan and 5 months of uni holidays) to see the families, head into Italy do some family stuff and sightseeing then into the really good stuff.
We think a week in Grindelwald and a week in Les Arcs and EuroDisney and back to the UK.
So does anybody have recommendations for Grindelwald or Les Arcs, or somewhere else in France?
France is still a toss up, so any recommendations would be well appreciated.

Haven’t checked here in a while, I’ve only been to a couple places in France. I would actually recommend the stuff near Ste. Foy-Tarentaise, which is a smaller resort near Val d’Isere and Tignes. From my personal experience, the operation of Steve McDonald is excellent (http://whiteroomchalet.com).
Of course, there’s also Chamonix, I had bad luck with the snow when I was there, but it’s a real trip, and the ride up to the Aiguille du Midi is a thrill (enjoy the bar! at 3800 m).
Switzerland- can’t really go wrong anywhere. Try the resorts in Graubunden and across the Austrian border in the Vorarlberg. Of if you’re already in Italy, you can link to Zermatt via Cervinia, or try the slopes in the Turin area. The possibilities are endless, I lived in Europe for several years and only scratched the surface.

We have settled on Les Arc and Grindelwald. Might even try to get a trip into Austria as well, see how far I can stretch the hubby’s wallet.
Sooooo I have been invited to Europe by a lodge manager…. If i stay at current job and get xmas off again I might get a RTW ticket and go there for a week… I really want to go to the states and whistler for a bit but maybe head to Austria as well maybe second or third week in Jan. She may give you guys a good deal too.

We pretty much have it all sorted. Just waiting on quotes for heli transfer between resorts. ;o) I think however the hubby may put his foot down on that one, and it will be car transfer….
Still a long way off tho.

Austria, Schladming to be precise. But since Mum and Dad seen hell bent on becoming ski bums and heading to either Vail or Steamboat (my vote is for steamboat even tho i haven’t been to Vail) next season then I suppose I will just stay with them!

Yonks ago I was at Schladming snowboarding with my family
It was the first time snowboarding for me and my brother, they set me up regular (I ride goofy) and gave him a racing board! WTF!
