Yes it does.
Stay tuned.
Don’t keep us waitin too long!!!!!
Yeah - I think i will need to have a word with Boxy about this Rider kid if he doesn’t show us GoPro footage for today! Pics just wont be enough!!
Rider’s Blog: Day 61
As the above picture shows, we have received a wee bit of snow in the last couple of days; 57cm in 24 hours to be exact. This March has now officially been the snowiest March on record.
The alpine stayed closed again today (thankfully). My brain would have gone into meltdown with so much snow mid mountain and the alpine being opened. Anyway, the alpine should be incredible when it opens tomorrow. 60cm of pow just waiting for us (and it looks incredible up there).
Dan and I headed up for first lift and we were both so stoked when we saw there was absolutely no one in line; the mountain was a ghost town. We went straight up red and spotted Shane boosting off a side hit. We waited a minute up top and caught tup with Shane, Marc, and a bunch of other dudes.
We bombed around to Goat Path; Shane hiked up but Marc and I dropped down out of convenience. The snow was so incredibly deep, it was pretty hard to maintain speed in the mellow areas. We cut across the creek to lover VD Trees which was deep and sick.
Shane, Mark (not Marc but Shane’s buddy), Dan, and I hiked up the cat track towards Harmony and rode all the deep pillows down. Launched off another cat track into another powder field.
From there, Dan and I caught up with Marc again, and also Chantelle. The four of us ended up riding together all day - what a crew! We rode all over the place; trees, gullies, drops, pillows… just had so much fun riding all the pow. I didn’t get much good footage from my GoPro although there is a little clip below. I think Dan and Marc got some good stuff on theirs.
Dan took this awesome photo with his GoPro. Dan, Chantelle, myself, and Marc on Garbanzo Chair
I’m having trouble with Vimeo at the moment but here is a quick clip from today. Should give you an idea of what the snow was like.
Wowwwww… so sad I can’t go today =(
Okay I feel Dan needs to banned if he doesn’t post footage soon!!
Oh and where are you planing on being next year Dan, instead of people following me I think we should follow Dan he had all the luck this season!!
FYI El Nino is gone and the weather is now Neutral and apparently (from the ski.com.au weather boffins) we have a much more likely chance of a reasonable season! Which may explain the late season in Nth America.
In Dan’s defence, that is his photo.
Hahaha, Ozgirl, I don’t think I will be getting up footage for quite some time. Sorry. I think I will put an edit of the whole trip together, rather than snippets. I have soooo much footage already and still a lot more riding to come. As usual, there’s a lot of crap footage so will need some serious sifting.
And yeah, I have been super lucky with snow over the last year and a bit (minus crappy Oz though). Couldn’t have timed this trip better. Next year I’m thinking of Japan btw
Oh yeah, and today was amazing! Jeremy summed it all up nicely. One of my fave days on a snowboard
Bring on Peak tomorrow
Was an unreal day riding today boys. Lots of footage to look through and sort out, hopefully can make a decent edit outta it. but not today, way too buggered, rode from the moment they opened fresh tracks at 8 till the last chair up one red at 4.15, got to the village at 5pm. so time to crash out. will catch u on the hill 2omorrow dan n jeremy.
