Navigating Sydney

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone on here can give me some advice. I am flying down to Sydney on thursday evening for a course on friday out at Liverpool (possibly West Liverpool???) and am wondering the best way to get there??? And possibly the best place to stay???

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

(So gutted I am going to miss out on the catch up by 24hours!!!)

There is a motorway called the M5 which starts near the airport and goes all the way out to liverpool…so that would probably be the best place to go.
What sort of a place are you looking to stay? Are you paying? An airport hotel would probably be nice and there wouldn’t be too much traffic heading out west on friday morning to get to your course. I’ve stayed at the stamford at the airport before and it was pretty nice. Would you be taxiing it?

stay in Sydney…..get a train in the morning from Central station to Liverpool station. do you know the street its on?

I’ll know more tomorrow, forgot to bring the paperwork home. As for taxi/public transport I’ll do whatever is easiest (as long as it doesnt cost me a fortune!!) I’m fairly certain the school will reimburse me for the motel as long as it isnt too expensive..

A taxi will prob cost ya $60-$70, a good 4 star stay ya should get one for about $100-$140 per night, breakfast inc!!!!!

Oh yeah, that taxi is one way!!!!!

I grew up near Livo… Best way is via the train to Glenfield and then change to Liverpool. Probably about 45 mins from the airport. It would be $100+ in a cab.

There is a Formula 1 there if you want cheap accom… but as with all formula 1’s, it’s not that nice.

If you can organize your flight to go back on Sunday morning/arvo, you are more than welcome to crash here… and I’m sure there are others that would be happy to have you over if you wanted to stay the Friday and Saturday nights

Stay in Syd for the night and we can go for a drink! Train is your best bet in peak hour to get to liverpool.

Thanks everyone for your input. Pending confirmation I will be flying to Sydney thurs night, attending a course at West Liverpool friday and flying home friday night. I would love love love to be in sydney for the weekend, but unfortunately i have an event on the saturday that i MUST attend!!! Oz, i would love to catch up thursday night, will keep you posted when i get a bit more organised!!
