Hi people this is my first season snowboarding and i’ve recently just purchased a 154cm DC Iikka pro board with medium Burton freestyle bindings to accommodate my size 10 boots, since purchasing i was reading a few posts on boot overhang and became a little bit worried that my boots overhang to much at the most extreme I get about 38mm on the front foot, toe side.
Is this ok or should I go argue with the shop for selling me a board that doesn’t fit my boots considering I had them first and took them in so the guy could fit them to the bindings and he also set them up for me. pictures below.
Hey Paul, it doesn’t look like you will have any problems. If you have significantly more toe overhang than heel overhang (which is common/expected for size 10 boots in a medium binding), I would recommend you move your bindings one notch back towards the heel edge. In the image I removed (sorry, image was too big and breaks the page), you will notice you have a good amount of clearance, meaning it will take a lot of angle to make your boots actually dig into the snow. I highly doubt you will have any problems with your setup, size 10 on a 249 waist width is ok.
Do you know what stance you use (angles, width)? This will also effect how much overhang you have.
You should also rotate your highbacks so they are parallel with the heel edge. Check out this article for more info on stance and setup: https://www.boardworld.com.au/snow/content/category/stance-and-snowboard-setup/
In regards to images, at the moment we can’t have images wider than 800 pixels as it breaks the page. We are working on a fix for this to automatically resize images greater than 800 pixels wide, but it’s not ready yet. Feel free to repost those images at a smaller size.
Ohh and welcome to Boardworld!
Paul, when is your next day on the snow going to be? let us know how it goes.
Hey thanks for the tips, much appreciated, so I moved my bindings a notch back towards the heel edge less overhang on toe side now maybe a little more on heel but will see how it goes see pics below also rotated those high backs hopefully i rotated them enough, looking forward to seeing if there is any difference.
By the way i’ve got my stance width at 570mm, front binding is set at positive 15deg and back binding set at negative 9deg
once again thanks for your help.
sorry about the huge photo’s unsure how to resize them maybe a setting on the camera i’m guessing.

Hey, an easy way to change the size of the photos is in MS Paint!
..Just press “ctrl” + “W” and the window “Resize and skew” will open. Just change the percentages there in resize. keep them the same each tho. and 50% shuld be adequate looking at the sizes u have already..
oh and btw, lucky u getting a board wen this is only ur first season boarding!!!
ive just gotten mine at the very end of last season, havent even used it yet… ive been hiring crappy things for the past 5 years!!
