The Dragon APX Goggle Has Landed in Australia

Avatar

Introducing the world’s first fully frameless goggle.

Featuring Patented technology for innovative frameless goggle design and Infinity Lens Technology™.

Torquay, Victoria (March 13, 2012) - Dragon South Pacific today announced the launch of the revolutionary APX goggle in Australia and New Zealand. It is the first and only fully frameless goggle in the snow market, and with two U.S. Patents recently approved for the APX’s unique frameless goggle design (Patent #D653686), and Infinity Lens Technology™ (Patent #D653695), it is also the most advanced.

Designed and tested at the APX Research and Development Cabin in Colorado backcountry, the APX Goggle offers the maximum possible peripheral vision, and has been proven to withstand the harshest, most technically demanding conditions by some of the best snowboarders in the world. Top Dragon snowboarders Gigi Ruf and Danny Davis along with Freeskiers TJ Schiller and Chris Benchetler all took part in the APX Cabin testing and gave input to make the APX Goggle the best in the market.

“The APX Goggle, with its innovative lens design, has been a great addition to the Dragon family of goggles”, explains Dragon Founder and CEO, Will Howard.  “Its design is technically advanced, and has a distinct look that sets it apart. The U.S. Patents protect the design and creates a platform from which Dragon can evolve this ‘ease of use’ lens system.”

The APX Goggle is available in an array of style and lens options, including the smaller fit APXs, all of which include Dragon’s exclusive Super Anti-Fog™ lens coating, which prevents fogging and lasts twice as long as competitor’s conventional anti-fog. Coupled with the minimalist, stylish outline of the APX itself, this goggle is the most anticipated snow goggle release in years.

my guess
199.95 for the basic model

Not awful but I hate the big goggle look. Not many people can pull it off, you really need a large head… Maybe Andy could do it!

Unsure about the no-frame goggles either. I think Smith have pulled that off best (Aesthetically, not the view you get from inside the goggle)

I currently have the Dragon DX, great goggle, though I wish those lenses were a bit more reflective so I can sneak better looks without getting caught!

I’d also like to know where these “harshest conditions in the world” are that they used for testing. I say give a pair to the Snow Makers and De-Icers, and if they approve, I approve. Those guys don’t usually have nice goggles, simply because they don’t stay very nice in that line of work!

You really do need to try a pair on before you give any fair judgement.

I love my apex goggles! Im never looking at my frame. I will only ever get a large goggle frame, it’s a must!
Bigger is better they have such a wide view, you really can see it all. I don’t find them big on the face only
big on view. On my road trip to Baker this week I got the boys to try them on just in the car. And they could
really see the difference.

What piece of gear suits the entire snowboard world anyway? They are one of the biggest on the market
so I’m sure they don’t suit all riders. They come in a slue of different color combos with every single
lens dragon produces for all there other lines. So many choices and variations!

Not only with the lens do you have so many choices but the quality is there. 82 days so far this season on
my 1st lens. Only one day it fogged but it was my bad because I left them with my wet mitts over night. They
dried perfect after two chair rides from air venting through. Not once even since that day has if fogged on the inside or
between the lenses. The reflectiveness has stayed on really well other then a tiny bit around the noes from it. Even with
out the extra frame as a bumper they are holding up great. Obviously i don’t through them lens down like some google frames let you get away with. The Apex’s are holding up way better then my last favorite goggle lens company which is a strong competitor
for dragon. No scratches on the lens at even after some the branches have taken to the face this season.

They even stand so strong behind there product. I called them up when i got a little chipping patch from
a serious icy cloud. Didn’t need a receipt just a photo of the goggle was enough proof.
New lens arrived at my house with in a week. Now thats a company that backs there product.

So yea my only slight negative is the price. They are the most expensive and don’t even come with
a low light cheap lens at $200 can. Could just be because there’s that much more material raspberry I’d say its
100% worth it. I strongly recommend them. You get the highest quality and customer service with that price.

I switched to Dragon this winter.. Im hooked and impressed.
