Thanks everyone. That actually makes sense!!! Def something like that could have happenewd whilst I was in japan.

Glad I could help. Going by what you have mentioned I would recommend purchasing something like a WDTV Live which is a simple to use network media player (so simple even my parents can use it!) It will have output options for an older TV but future expandability to a new tv with HDMI. It will also easily handle 1080p bluray rips and a variety of different codecs.

So I came home from work today as I was not feeling well (i liked my chiro suggestion of having the “Alcoholics cold” LOL)

Anyway yep old files are ok. There must have been some change in the last 3 weeks :-(

So does that mean I can no longer use my DVD system? :-(

Please birthday fairy be good to me!!!!

Did you compare an old and new file with mediainfo that I mentioned in the other post? That’s the easiest way to find out if there has been a change in the past few weeks.

If there has been a change you could probably reencode to a compatible format for your player, but you would be much better off moving onto a device more suited to recent file formats

Oz, you can still google what you want + xvid and it should work on your DVD player.

So if you want the newest big bang theory, on eztv it says x264 at the end.

Google “Big Bang s05e19 xvid” and you’ll get one that works on the DVD player.

Ah so it is the x264 that is not working…

Wonder if pirate bay has my favs with xvid?

Eztv is just so easy…. sigh

Come on Birthday fairy!!! 10 days to go.
