I reckon a lobster would be sick…but pretty park oriented…is that what you want?
i was about to buy one in Tahoe, i have seen people freeriding them and looked to go pretty good.

Lobster are apparently just re-branded Bataleon boards. They are made in the same factory. I know the Bataleon Disaster is on of the Boards Lobster uses.
Bataleon works out cheaper. They are able to offer their boards cheaper these days as they are starting to get the recognition they deserve.
Lobster is a slightly tweaked version of bataleon…. 2013 boards have a new tbt flavour too
Tweaked in what way? The specs for the Lobster Jibboard and Bataleon Disaster are identical. The only difference is that Lobster offer it in a 144 and Bataleon offer it in a 156.
specs shmeks its the core thats slightly softer on the jibboard to the disaster
Got deets or a source for this? I was considering getting the Lobster until I found out they were the Disaster. They both have the exact same Flex rating as well 8-9-8.
Lobster specify “WDT” Core. Bataleon also say “pressure bonded wood composite technology”
The only thing I’ve heard is that the Artist Lobster boards are slightly stiffer. And that is probably due to the materiel they used to allow the graphics.
Fair to assume they are identical?
EDIT: actually, the only difference I can see is that Lobster use a bi-ax laminate and Bataleon claim a Tri-ax laminate. Everything else is identical. I’m still going to assume that they are virtually exactly the same, unless someone who has ridden both can verify a difference. Imagine the feel very much the same on snow.
Gamblor, of the Burton boards were there any in particular that you liked or disliked?
I liked the Root, easy livin. the barracuda was good too, but very powder-centric. It carves ok though.
what exactly is the appeal of Lobster boards?

there was another rep from the US who had a q&a in some forums who said they were slightly softer too to suit the helgasons…
To be honest i dont rekon you would probably notice it too much

They use TBT, only the second company to do so after Bataleon created it.
Basically that and the brand name, as it was created by the Helgason brothers. It’s getting pumped up pretty fast because of that fact, so I hope Bataleon are getting a good deal out of it.

Yeah I saw the q&a thread and a bunch of other threads about Lobster, on the other forums and didn’t see him saying anything about them being softer, but saw people claiming the artist versions were stiffer.
That doesn’t exactly state how they’re different, I would say he’s more saying it for the fact that it’s not really a great ploy to claim to be selling the exact same board as another company.
He’s only saying we may see some softer models, doesn’t confirm they are softer as well.
well doesnt seem there is much info to say its one or the other either way .... the lobster/bataleon 2013 gear is different to the 2012 stuff anyway and its what we see this winter coming
i found tbt to be really loose. It feels like you’re going to slide out until the last second when the edge finally kicks in. I guess it’s just something to get used to. I personally find the lobster graphics to be ‘extreme’ and are not something I could (or would want to) bring home.
I guess if you’re hyped on the helgasons and tbt and the newness factor ....
what about Slash snowboards then?
Do u mean the Rome Slash…. cause that thing is just horrible.
But I’m guessing u mean a brand Slash that I haven’t heard of yet…

the exact reason i didnt buy the Lobster board in Tahoe, i wanted the basic park board (says LOBSTER on the base and the only graphic on the topsheet is the lobster logo and the word lobster between the bindings) but they only had the park board in the artist series, and i didnt want a girl with teeth in her vag, dripping blood…
