YES Basic stance question
Thinking of a YES basic as a new board. Wondering if anyone out there with the 155 could advise on the stance width range of this model? In particular, can anyone comment on whether using a wide stance effects the board handling due to feet not being ideally positioned over the camrock?
I’ve had a 156 Typo which is essentially a basic and had no issues riding with a 24” stance - bindings were positioned right on the edges of the cambered section. Also found the same with my 154 Tasmaniac.
I also have found no drama with my Tasmaniac, or Mrs Miz’s Basic with both our stances bolted out as far as they’ll go!!!!!
Pretty sure that they would have made sure the profile/inserts were positioned so as to make the CamRock work!!!!!
Havin said that, it will undoubtedly change how the CamRock feels with different stances, as it will on any board with any profile!!!!!

exactly, there is no way they would put binding mounting points outside of the “zone” so to speak.
when i had the great dudes board, i found the board was flat under the feet anyways. The ‘cam’ of camrock was just in between teh feet. How is it for you YES owners? when you put the board on a hardfloor and step on it, does it move under your feet at all?
i will confirm tonight, i checked this out when i first got the board but for the life of me cant recall now…
Yeah mate, that is bang on!!!!! The “flat” area is directly where the inserts are!!!!!

Thanks for the replies guys. My stance is about 23.5 inches so sounds like the 155 would be ok. Reason I asked is I’ve ridden a few boards in the 153-155 range where pushing the front binding mount too far forward has resulted in shocking handling, in particular catching edges

You’ll find that the rocker in the tip and tail will help greatly with this!!!!!
Also while the YES comes factory de-tuned, try givin it another go over, just to get rid of the sharpness of the contact points!!!!!
On the boards that ya had tried before, were any de-tuned????? Or were they ridden straight from the shelf?????
mizu i think he is talking about the board nose diving because the stance/weight distribution is causing the edge to dig into the snow (nose dive) and turn to quick.

same thing has happened to me - mainly on a directional board
had my front foot stance too far forward - the balance of the board is messed up
you seem to dig an edge into your turn too hard - ie nose dive the snowboard, because your weight is too far forward on the board
not really catching the edge, just you have too much pressure on the front of the board - mainly toe edge for me
board digs in & kinda hooks you around, slows you down kinda feeling
degree of binding can do the same thing
