POV1.5 - 720X480@25fps (Xcam modified recorder connector) - Xcam mount on long pole (front of Kayne’s kart facing Kayne)
POV.HD - 1920X1080@25fps (with faulty camera head new out of box) - mounted low facing backward from Kayne’s Kart with Xcam modified rubber dampener.
2X DriftHD - 1920X1080@25fps
1/ mounted on roll bar (looking over Craig’s helmet) using Drift monopod held with cable-ties and foam dampener.
2/ side rail looking into Craig’s kart with waterproof housing (to protect from debris off tire) mounted with UltraClamp and using Gaffer tape to reduce vibration/avoid movement.
Edited with iMovie
Exported to H.264 1280X720 @25fps 10mbps
Compressed using Mpeg streamclip to 4mbps (Vimeo suggests 5mbps) this reduced file size from 227mb to 91mb and means faster upload and playback.
Embeded with HD turned off. It improves playback speed and it looks so good even in SD I couldn’t see a reason to bother.
Done right SD is still supreme for online content.
Nice work Spaz
I edited my above post.
If you notice what time I wrote it you’ll understand why I confused the way I mounted the cam on Craig’s kart.
I was up another 2 hours editing the footage from another shoot where I had used the goggle mount secured with cable-ties.
Yesterday morning I was at the track to shoot some stuff with Steve Roach. While waiting for them to arrive I fabricated a permanent mount on the roll bar and began work on another location for a permanent mount on the side rail that gives a view of the full driver and track in the same frame (1080 mode) similar to Craig’s side on view.
I’m so happy to have finished the editing for the dance concerts.
nice spaz! looked like heaps of fun! was Lowndes pushing it hard at all or taking it easy?
It was all fun and mostly rigged. The half lap I used of lowndes was the most he pushed it but he never went hard.
Great footage spaz!!!
