The JP walker board is dope. I domo-ed it. If I was gunna get a flat board I would get that one for sure. It’s such a nice compromise.
The only down side of flat boards is that (because they aren’t bent one way or the other) they don’t have as much pop or suspension to land on.
But it’s almost worth it, cause flat boards are easy enough in the powder and they carve better than rockers.
But again, it has the benefits of rocker and camber but it’s not as good as either.
If I was going to ride something other than Pure rocker or Pure Camber, it would be the JP Walker for sure.
Plus I met JP and he’s an awesome guy

Enough said!!!!!
. . . flat boards are easy enough in the powder and they carve better than rockers. . .
A nice compromise are the rocker/flat/rocker boards - like the highly regarded Capita ‘Indoor Survival FK’.

Yeh my parkstar is rocker/flat/rocker.
Would be happy to give u a ride on it at the Shred if you are in no rush to buy
my vote is for something by Smokin. Their dirt rocker is rocker flat rocker and it has crazy pop. My friend just got the kyle clancy pro model which is flat and he loves it.
In other news, yesterday was a demo day and I tried out the following 2013 boards:
Burton
————
Easy Livin
Cheetah
Con Artist
Root
Superhero
Harvest
Barracuda
K2
——
Ultra Dream
Peacekeeper
slayblade
Did ya like the Slayblade, Gamblor????? I was very interested in gettin one a couple of seasons back!!!!!
actually no I didn’t. I too was really interested in it but it felt a little ‘thick’. It has bumps under the bindings which could be the harshmellow dampening (I haven’t checked the tech out). The Ultra dream was so much better. I really liked it. The Peacekeeper felt like a cheaper version of the ultra dream (same shape but less exciting) but it’s listed as their big mountain board, so maybe it has more dampening to go faster
Yeah, I wasn’t sure about the harshmellow dampening things either!!!!!
They look as though they would split open or compact after a while?????
Did ya test them out with ya new ReFlex binders bolted on?????
cartel reflex on the k2’s, est cartels/malavitas/genesis/diodes on the burtons.
The Genesis bindings are f#####ing incredible!
How’s the ultra dream gamblor? You like it more than the Experience or Sherlock?
hmmm, that’s a difficult question. I rode a 158 which is smaller than what I’d like and I don’t know what sizes it comes in, so I don’t if it’d be perfect for me. Thing is, I’m totally satisfied with my sherlock/nug combo, with the Experience in the wings for gnarly bc.
I didn’t have the Sherlock on hand to do a back to back comparison, but I don’t think the Ultra Dream was good enough to warrant me selling the Sherlock to get it.
I came away from the demo even more satisfied with my current quiver.
thanks for the info guys, A little busy this week so I won’t get a chance to go through them properly until later in the week but I will get to them!
Gamblor, of the Burton boards were there any in particular that you liked or disliked?
Anyone ridden a lobster? I was thinking about one of their boards. There specs look crazy though…a mix of camber, rocker and flat by the looks of things.
I’d call the TBT somethin more similar to a concave deck!!!!!
While I haven’t ridden one, I think that it would be great in the park for jibbin boxes and rails, plus it would carve ok, but I reckon it would be pretty squirrelly when ya flatbasin!!!!!
It looks like they should have good pop also!!!!!
The only real downside would be the time when/if ya go to get a base grind!!!!! You’d have to find someone that knew what they were doin I’d think!!!!!
That’s my take on it anyways!!!!!
