Although quit amusing; using “C” word instead of the tasteful way I set it to be, I find very distracting. And the insinuation it leads to, is outside the boundary of what Box Head would be happy with.
Worth noting.
Hey Box Head you doosh, maybe you should take consideration toward your rule
Only a few of the most offensive words have been censored. Please do not try to get around the censor. If a word is censored, please leave it that way.
chucky v’s spaz is currently debating common vernacular and literary terms. And there is a clear gap between both.
eg: “wtf” is a clear anagram used by most youth and not of particular offence.
To use f**k is offensive and in literary terms more so, although widely used in general conversation, free to air tv, daytime radio and recently Australian Parliament. I do understand your role at Boardworld is to ensure a wider audience has access.
I think if f**k is used in an offensive manner toward someone it should be pulled up. But used as a general term, not.
Although the literal meaning of the word is to defy or strike and was used in punishment by making adulterers have the word brandished on a board above their head so the public would know them as such. It also describes the ploughing of a field.
Instead of the belief of the Oxford Dictionary meaning “sexual intercourse” (first included in 1972) it’s most common use is to denigrate.
None of that has much weight when today it is commonly used as a description of a persons emotion. As deanobruce did.
I knew you’d be a by stander db. But I have to ask you to review https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/4779/
i may have crossed the line in provoking this (but in saying that, i didnt provoke it per se’* i simply outlined that there should be a thread for a healthy debate. but this is the interwebz so no debate goes on without slander/personal attacks no matter how hidden behind big person words they are.)
i respectfully acknowledge thy commandments of the world of Board, and will abide by them thustly.
* i dont even know if that is the right context or how you spell it, it has been in my head all day and i really, really wanted to use it.
It also describes the ploughing of a field..
It certainly means ploughing something…
Hehe.
Google, no.
Wikipedia, definitely no!
Merriam Webster Dictionary, however, yes.
Wrong! oh so, so, wrong. (for reasoning of our argument toward the literal term)
Merriam is the man who raped the english language because Americans in general were buffoons, with no education system or common language. In speaking to one another Americans had little to no understanding from one family to the next.
Merriam, however has great respect by myself as I believe he created the only “correct” way to pronounce the english language without accent and corrected latin derived english terms in their reading.
Unfortunately this creates a greater boundary between all latin derived dialect and makes it harder to learn how to read other languages. It also f**ks with the beauty of latin which leads to miscommunication in science, which destroy’s the pursuit of science and knowledge.
This is the reason NASA (an American company) now steers away from Merriam terms, it was found to be costing billions of dollars and progression when the cold war ended and NASA joined with other space programs to develop the ISS. Merriam alone can be blamed for setting back space exploration by at least 20 years.
It also describes the ploughing of a field..
It certainly means ploughing something…
Hells Yeah!
^now that doesn’t work.
Dam you Box Head for ruining BW’s catch phrase and communal chant.
I might just put these words in riders mouth, “Box Head f**king shits me”
hahaha
I’m sure you got the point Chucky, asking to point out Uganda was a unique way to make people question and had nothing to do with actually where it is.
It would have been funny if the map was of South America. Or outdated when Uganda didn’t exist (though with the rate Africa’s borders change…)
^ It’s important to make people ask the right questions.
More so that they question.
There are no wrong questions, only wrong answers.
To not question at all is a travesty….. something has to get simple minds working to begin with.
Not everyone has your intellect chucky.
There are no wrong questions, only wrong answers.
i was honestly going to post this exact sentence but i got over it
There are no wrong questions, only wrong answers.
In theory, perhaps - but in reality, not so much. Asking too many wrong questions takes crucial time away from asking the right ones.
Not everyone has your intellect chucky.
Buggered if I can argue with that.
There are no wrong questions, only wrong answers.
I disagree!!!!!
eg, asking if your super rich girlfriend would mind signing a pre-nup!!!!! = Wrong!!!!!
Askin ya dentist if he can do a prostate examination before he performs a flouride clean!!!!! = Wrong on two counts!!!!!
Askin the lax airport security if their metal detectors are capable of detectin chemical bombs, while clutchin ya backpack in front of you!!!!! = Wrong!!!!!
just for the sake of arguing Mizu, wouldn’t that depend on the answer.
eg: super rich girlfriend answers “yes,” (she would mind) - bonus she’s rich and stupid or you fully aware you don’t have to keep sucking up to her for the dollars.
dentist answers “no” (right answer). or “yes” (wrong answer).
lax - ummm….. dentist gave the right answer but your desperate for a prostate exam and know by asking the right question you’ll get it done for free there.
just go to Castro’s Mizu, you can get multiple free prostate exams if you so wish.
