btw boycotting those brands to get your speed cameras taken away is the most retarded thing I have ever heard.
boycotting those brands to get your speed cameras taken away is the most retarded thing I have ever heard.
Why?
In the truest sense of the word, supporting speed cameras as they’re currently used is “retarded” - so to oppose them is just the opposite.
Every rational, intelligent person on the planet knows that speed cameras aren’t there for safety, but for revenue raising. Quite simply, I don’t want my money going into funding this extortion. There’s nothing at all “retarded” about that.
The overwhelming majority of speeding fines are in the 5-25 Kmh range. Yet if you ask any relevant government department to show evidence of ANY road accidents where driving at a speed in excess of the posted limit by only 5-25 Kmh was the actual CAUSE of an accident, and you’ll draw a complete blank. That’s right - NOT ONE accident! So WHY do motorists driving at these speeds bear the brunt of the overwhelming majority of speed enforcement??? Simple, it’s an easy way to raise money. Unfortunately, what it also does is divert much needed attention away from addressing the real dangers on our roads.
Speed is NOT the problem the revenue-raisers would like us to think it is - the main problems are driver inexperience, incompetence, inattention and inconsideration. However these very real dangers on our roads are systematically ignored because there’s so much money to be made from fining experienced, competent, attentive and considerate drivers who occasionally exceed the posted speed limit when it’s safe to do so.
Personally, I’d MUCH prefer for all drivers to have their eyes safely fixed on the road and surrounds, than to have them dangerously monitoring their speedometers with paranoid regularity. Far too many deluded sheeple buy into the government’s deceptive “speed kills” propaganda, even though it’s blatantly obvious that their main aim is to simply justify their extortionate revenue raising. I just hope that karma doesn’t catch up with the gullible “speed kills” zealots, and they lose a loved one to a driver watching their speedo instead of watching the road.
The government’s anti-speeding campaigns are only effective in conning the gullible into believing they’re genuinely doing something positive about road safety - but sadly, there are plenty of gullible sheep out there who actually fall for their propaganda.

I can’t even think of anything to write because I’m giggling so much. Cheers, Sir Gamblor!
^ I don’t get it? Is it the irony of the statement that you find so amusing?
Maybe it’s the bit about K2 makin great boards?????
We all know that he’s a teacher!!!!! Not a board maker!!!!!
dude, it’s fine that you’re against speed cameras. But, seriously, what do you think will happen in your wildest dreams? People will boycott Rossi and the other 2 brands, which will leave the Macquarie group reeling due to the loss of revenue from the oh so lucrative Australian market, and they will be forced to tell the government, “sorry, but we are losing money on skis and snowboards so we will have to cancel our lucrative speed camera contract with you”. Then the government will take that hard and sit down with a bottle to do some hard thinking about doing without the easy money from the speed cameras. The government will then cancel all the speed cameras and retroactively cancel all fines (hell, since this is a dream, the government will cancel all traffic violations and send hookers & blow to the ‘victims’ of speed camera). Then the average man will realize that hey, I’m so glad I didn’t buy that Rossi snowboard that was tempting me so, and in the process I changed the face of Australia for the better!
Caboose: I am riding a Burton Sherlock this year that has hybrid camber (flying v) and it feels great. I tried a YeS Great Dudes, and while it rode great, I think I like the flying v better than the camrock, probably because of the edge hold. ON the flying v, the rocker is only under each foot and you can feel the edges in front of your toes and behind your heels. The YES felt looser.
Also, beware of YES quality - the internet is full of YES and Jones defects (both made by Nidecker). My friends’ Tadashi board’s graphics have rubbed off between the bindings!!! WTF is that? I’ve heard the same thing about a Jones Mountain Twin.
haha mizu - perfect pic.

It’s simply a matter of integrity.
It’s the same reason I avoid other products produced by companies owned by people/corporations/institutions whose ethics or actions I find objectionable.
Willingly funding unscrupulous people/corporations/institutions, regardless of your issues with them is “retarded”, as is the assumption that to avoid doing so is entirely futile.
so, Chucky, did you get a split yet? I remember tr’s from last year of you hiking out far. Is there a Spliff in your future?
