The Great Debate ~ Nth America or Japan?????

What’s ya flavour?????

Wee I’ve just done the US and apart from the fact the season started abysmally it would otherwise be pretty fun but I think I would have to say Japan now, maybe next year.

I’ve had great times riding in all three countries. Japan had some of the lightest pow I’ve ever experienced and it was such a cultural adventure. I absolutely loved my time there and I can’t wait to get back and see more. I lived in Breckenridge for six weeks and travelled to many of the COlorado resorts. Likewise, I had a great time there, however I wouldn’t rush to go back to Colorado necessarily. I’d like to see Jackson Hole, Utah resorts, Cali resorts etc.

That all said, I clicked ‘Canada’. I’ve well and truly fallen in love with this place and it’s become a second home to me. In regards to freeriding terrain, Whistler beats anything I have seen. The backcountry is endless and amongst some of the best in the world. There’s a reason so many professional skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, photographers, and film crews call Whistler home. I love the town, I love the people, I love the lifestyle, and I love the mountains. Canada is blessed with some amazing resorts and you don’t even have to leave BC to experience some of the best resorts in the world. BC is a genuinely beautiful place and it continues to amaze me when I travel to new places. Maybe I’m biased, but Canada was the clear choice for me.

Well and truly glad that I choose Japan this season (well it was chosen for me) But Tahoe will always be my second home and if i go to the states i get to ride with my bestie (awwww)

Haven’t ridden in Canada (even tho I lived there) so that is where i am going next year.

There is so much of this world that i am yet to discover and sooo many resorts left to check out that i could never choose one exclusively!

Actually I should add… at first i didn’t vote… but i just realised I have always said I would buy a place in Tahoe if I won lottery.

so maybe that is the question…. which place would you go to over and over and over! LOL

Havent experienced Canada or Japow as of yet, i will experience them no doubt but at this stage i cant comment.

Apart from the lack of snow in Tahoe when we were there, i loved the place, and the resorts (especially Kirkwood) have so much potential i need to explore with a few feet of fresh pow on them!

As I sit here eating my porridge and watch it flog down snow again here in Niseko, where would I go if there was only one place I could go to, Whistler. I have ridden in Colorado, BC, Japan and NZ and there is a lure back to Whistler and BC for me as well. I have had some crap weather as Whistler and even shittier snow but I have also had it epic. Sure Niseko might get tonnes and tonnes of pow but for me, Whistler still get a vote.
