Rider’s Blog: Day 41
OK, here’s my day. Go up with Shane. Hit the park. Shane hits a couple of jumps while I film. He then proceeds to give himself a concussion and bust a couple of ribs on the wall ride (we’ve been riding for all of two minutes). We cautiously ride to the village while Shane keeps asking me what day it is and what happened. We spend some time in the clinic and getting x-rays. I had just enough time to make it up for a second run. It was snowing heaps at the end of the day and I just cruised a run to the village. Short edit of my day coming soon.
Shane, mate, I feel your pain!! Take it easy mate, and dont hang round anyone who is gonna make you laugh lots!!

Yeah, lucky that he was ridin with Jeremy then!!!!!
Time for a bit of an update from me.
As you’ve all seen had a great time on Monday Riding with Shane and Jeremy, perfect bluebird day with the TG in pretty good condition and very few people in there which was great as we rarely had to wait to hit anything and as you could see could hit a few features at a time which you don’t always get.
Tuesday night I went down to Cypress which is just out of Vancouver for some night shredding with some mates which was a great change. Whilst it’s a pretty small resort with not everything open for night riding we all had a good time exploring some new terrain and it had a slightly similar feel to Big White with tonnes of side hits and wall rides all over the place. Snow was really good as they’d had 8cm in the past 48hrs and it was really nice and dry which was a pleasant change from the hardpack conditions in Whistler as we hadn’t had much snow in the past week. Only had my phone with me so the pictures aren’t exactly fantastic but I’ll throw them up anyway.
cool story shaun..
My foot has started to play up again so I’ve been to see the doctor who has told me no riding for a week which isn’t great news but it’ll be good to give the body a break and just take it easy. Only downside to this is that it’s started dumping snow in the village again this afternoon with a new storm front coming through. It’s going to be a very busy weekend/week ahead with the US presidnts weekend/week holiday which means a lot of holidayers around so the lift lines will be crazy along with the village aswell so not the most ideal time to be riding. Hopefully this storm thats hitting now will stick around for a bit and bring some much needed snow.
Cool story Shaun!!!!!
That is a pretty long night skiing run!
Such a shame about your foot Finney :-(
Such an incredible day. Third chair up Peak and first person down Whistler Bowl amongst the highlights. Did some filming too. Will update my blog as soon as I get some energy back. Rode from first chair till 2:30 with only a short water break. I’m beat (but very happy).
