Have stayed here before. Apartments are really good. Free wifi, great drying rooms downstairs. Even had complimentary hot fresh baked bread delivered first day from a local bakery.
Great! Good to know internet works!
Went out riding last night. Photo attached. Only took one as it was real cold. No new snow this morning. Today we went over to Annapuri and sussed out the gates but the weather came in very quick and what started out as a clear morning ended in a white out. Still got freshies in the trees in between the groomers and two laps to bottom before heading back to Hanazono with a few laps thru Strawberry Fields and then the trees off Shinja. Shinja still had untracked stuff. Sun came out again and continued to lap Hana till weather came in again and visibility went to zero. Called it quits at 12 and to the bakery for lunch. Chilled in the arvo and waxed boards. It is now puking again. Photos attached. Appears everyone has left being Saturday, really quiet.
thanks so much for these updates!!
Getting very excited. Such a shame that we miss each other!

Shame. It has become like groundhog day. 20-25cm everyday. Back knee is taking a bit of a pounding and has a bit of fluid in it but that’s not going to stop a thing. Day6- peak was open for the first time in a couple of days and everyone headed up there. Rode gate 5 a few times whilst everyone lined up at King Lift 4. Reckon I got in at least one lap before those in the line hit the chair. Then down to Hano for a coffee and pork bun. Then into Strawberry Fields for the morning. It absolutely puked down this morning, enough to cover your tracks on laps. Then for a few laps of the Hirafu Gondola down thru Konayuki which runs under the gondola. At 1pm I could still get fresh runs. Out to Tozaken for dinner and a beer. Back in apartment now with a coffee and a choco-pie watching idiot box. Great day.
sounds more like a great day mate!
Check out this guy for your knee. My friend swears by him. This is an email he sent to our whole group.
He uses a combination of several therapies that he calls “Kinsei” - sort of a hybrid between Chiro (without the cracking!), Bowen and accupressure therapy but totally different.
He fixed up a few chronic problems with my hip and back and has worked wonders for a few friends with old injuries (or new injuries!!).
He charges Y7,500 for an hour. He doesn’t work Wednesdays and he gets fully booked so if you have any body problems or misalignments I recommend you contact him before you get there to book in a couple of sessions.
Anyway, here is his e-mail address:

He is Japanese but speaks excellent English.

Hey ozgirl
Thanks for that. I might have to look him up. Have done a good stretch / yoga practice this arvo and drunk a ton of water along with some neurofen and it feels good. Just has the inflammation which the neurofen should sort out. It’s not sore, just wear and tear.
Day 8: Out by 8.30 and ripped a couple of laps on the front side Ace Quad a one down Onsenzawa under the gondola before it backe all tracked out. Over to Hana 3 for a few runs through the trees via gate 5. Then down to the Strawberry Fields. I did the biggest front flip/roll/cartwheel in a long time by jumping and landing in deep pow in the bottom ssection of Strawberry. Had a stack of speed and pulled up very quickly on landing, just couldnt keep the nose up. Got a few hoots for my effort. Lapped Strawberry Fields for the rest of the morning heading out wider each time with some nice small pillow lines. Couple of runs to finish off at Miharashi (hike up side of gondola). Back completely shagged. Dinner in with a big feed of pasta.
.
Day 9: Down day. After riding 8 days straight with an average of 10-20cm falling every night, today is a rest day. But only because the weather is savage. Most of the mountain is closed with even Hana No.1 running slow because of the wind. Winds are currently at 60-65km/hr at the top of the mountain and 25-30km in the village. Air temp is -16 mid mountain and wind chills below -30. It hasnt snowed a great deal over night, about 10cm, but hopefully this wind will push everything about. They were av blast ing this morning as there are some massive cornices and wind loaded areas outside of Gates 3 & 4. The break has also been good for the legs to recover.

A Bu Cha Bakery is copping a pounding. They had run out of pastries by 12.30. Managed to snavel the last cinnamon bun. Rest of the day is catching up on sleep, stretching, and maybe an onsen.
Nice did you find that onsen i told you about?
