That step up in the XL park looks like it would be so much fun!
So I left Whistler today at 10am and spent the whole day on a bus. Was pretty overcast so I didn’t get any good photos. Arrived in Revelstoke at about 6pm. Staying in an awesome hotel. Got cheese and wine on arrival haha!
Everyone also got upgraded to their own room due to some mix-ups with the hotel arrangements which I’m pretty sure everyone is stoked about (I know I am.. lol.)
The room also has a balcony with a view of the slopes, it’s awesome! Can’t wait to ride tomorrow!
I know Whistler well but never been and really want to go to Revy and Kicking Horse. Looking forward to your posts!
I don’t think they are step ups, just massive hits K2!
Fair enough. I Just thought Thr top one was. Must just be the angle
Well Revelstoke is sick! I’ve probably had more fun riding here than I did at Whistler. Today was our guided day, got shown around a bit, the whole where to go/ where not to go, which was good.
We got a little bit of a dusting over night, just kept things fresh. Still a heap of fresh stuff hidden in the trees. I’ll try and get a few shorts going through the trees tomorrow.
Heaps of fun natural stuff to ride (no park on the mountain) Pretty steep hills, nice long runs. Wish we were here for more than 2 days. Only Blue/Black runs, not very beginner friendly, heaps fun though!
Just outside our Hotel.
On our way up to the top.
The view from the lift on the way up.
Looking down the lift line, steep, fast groomers.
Sick view of the lake.
Looking up towards the peak.
Top lift, just near the peak. Mostly overcast today, but the sun came out up top for some awesome shots.
More from the top.
Another one on top of the world!
Awesome photos man! I gotta get to Revy!
Well a bit of an update for yesterday. Finished off at Revy. Was a sick day again, wish we could have stayed for longer. Rode the same stuff again, got a heaps of GoPro footage which I’ll edit and upload when I get home. No photos yesterday though. Some mad tree runs and a few big (not big on a pro level, but big compared to what I’ve done) drops. Around 2m high. Pretty rad day.
Today we packed up and headed off to Kicking Horse, it was about a 2 hour drive from Revelstoke. Not too far compared to the drive from Whistler to Revy. Got to our hotel room today around 3, strolled around the village for a bit and have a Mexican all you can eat dinner coming up at 7:30! Pretty keen lol. I’ve got a few pics to put up, but the net here is average, so I’ll do that a bit later. Can’t wait to ride tomorrow. Stay tuned!
On the road again. From Revy to Kicking Horse
Bit of scenery along the way.
We made it! lol..
Hotels at KH.
Edit: for pics.
So I’ve been a bit slack with the photos and updates, but this is 2 days of riding at kicking horse, well.. 1 and a half coz i was wrecked today and called it after lunch.. poor form, I know.
Yesterday was our guided day, it was pretty full on, most of the runs at kicking horse are black and double black. It was a bit of a step up compared to what I’ve ridden before but was mad fun.
This is pretty much the highlight of yesterday, the hike up and around the back or Terminator 1 Peak, to the bowl in the middle.
Getting ready to head up.
The pretty much vertical climb up.
Still going..
We also rode Whitewall/Fuez Bowl (8,000 ft high), which was HUGE . (compared to what I’ve ridden before).
These are a few photos from today up at Eagles Eye, on top of CPR Ridge.
Restaurant on top of the mountain.
Looking down towards the runs.
One of the easier bowls, ‘Bowl Over’.
And to finish off, a photo with me and the bear at the bottom lol..
nice trip report so far!
kicking horse looks intense! and awesome
Wow, super steep! Looks amazing.
Bit of an update today, nothing too interesting though lol. Left Kicking Horse for Banff this morning. Strolled around the streets of Banff, got lunch, went to some shops. Hotel is pretty cool again, sick outdoor pool with a mad view of the mountains, I’ll get some pics tomorrow
Got a few photos as well..
Heading into Banff.
Cool peak driving through town.
Went for a bit of a walk on the frozen river.
Oh Deer! (Just a Deer cruising the streets, nothing unusual.)
hehe! The deer are a menace in the summer… all over our yard.
Whereabouts are you staying?
Many Many moons ago I worked at The Ptarmigan Inn (sister hotel with the Caribou (creative names eh!)
I also use to live in a townhouse in the complex which is by the river on the way to the Banff Springs hotel.
