Rider’s Blog: Day 36
Michelle got back on her snowboard today, after almost a year off after her shoulder surgery. She’s been telling me quite a bit lately that she wanted to get back on her board but I’ve been encouraging her not to (shoulder still isn’t close to 100%).
Anyway, we met up with a few of Michelle’s friends in the morning. Cruised a couple of runs and caught up with Mizu and Leanne. Eventually we caught up with Marc and Meg as well.
No new snow but a super fun day out there. We did a bunch of laps to Garb, Red, Mid station, and even did a Peak to Creek lap. By the end of the day my legs were well and truly done. Michelle did really well for her first day back on the snowboard - she even did a couple of top to bottom switch runs.
By the way, Mizu is very excited for the Pride Week ‘Fur-ocious’ Bear Party tonight. He’s been practising his dance moves all day!
Here’s a few photos from today…

Well Jeremy and other boardworld-ians just thought i’d let you know on what you missed out on today. Today’s snow was well, best put, wet heavy and australian in style. went up to symphony where i was met by fog and rain and the top station, after one lap through the adagio trees, gave up pretty quickly and decided that hit n run was the place of choice, after 2 laps and an impact with a nice ol death cookie left by a snowcat, with a painful ankle i limped down to the village where i met mizu and mrs mizu who were doing possibly the smartest thing, laps of the Fitzsimmons chair riding switch. They were done as well and retiring to the comforts of the dublin gate and a cold beverage. I had to go down the village and by the time i got back i think mizu had headed back to the hotel.
So to summaries, Jeremy i should have taken your heed and stayed at home. hehehe.
pretty sure i saw mizu in the village the other day but i thought it would be a bit weird if i went up to him haha
Hahaha yeah, I don’t regret staying at home to work yesterday.
Mr Banana, did you get my text a couple of days ago? I have your number down as 604 388 9782, correct? Anyway, we should catch up soon man. Give me a text whenever. My number is 604 906 2683.
Don’t worry about being weird around Mizu. He’s pretty weird himself.
your pretty flelxible in that photo! i cant touch my toes at all unless my legs are bent right up… really should work on that
Rider’s Blog: Day 37
Today was Mizu’s last day of riding. It’s been fun having him here to say the least. He injured himself yesterday but pushed through to ride today.
I caught up with Skip and his two buddies, Blake (who was riding his new snowboard), Mizu, and Leanne. The visibility was pretty bad in places but we had some fun runs riding Whistler. We rode hit run a couple of times, did a couple of village laps, and rode pretty much till last lift. Michelle finished work and joined Mizu, Blake, and I for a final top to bottom run.
Special mention must go to Blake. He bought snowboard boots, board, and bindings. He’s riding super well for having only done a few days on a snowboard.

Hey mate, unfortunately my phone ran out of credit and i didn’t realise it would mean i couldn’t receive texts either which sucks. But anyways i’m heading to van tomorrow to see a canucks game which is going to be awesome!
So as soon as i get back i’ll stock up my phone with credit and send you a text!
No worries mate. Tried texting you yesterday as well. Hit me up when you have credit.
Rider’s Blog: Day 38
Michelle and I went to the village last night to watch ‘Fire and Ice’ with Mizu and Leanne. We had a fun evening strolling around the village with Lucky (our dog). I found such an appropriate t-shirt for Mizu (see photo below) but they didn’t have it in his size - damn!
The sun finally came out today and I caught up with Finney and Shane in the morning. I took the GoPro up with one of the new grips (tried the grenade grip - it’s super short and great for follow cam). I didn’t take any photos on the hill but there should be a quick edit from today popping up shortly. We mostly rode the terrain garden on Blackcomb before riding down for beers at GLC. Finney and I went back up Whistler and did a couple of runs down hit run. The snow was pretty icy today due to the cold temps.
We saw Mizu and Leanne off this evening. Their bus to the airport left at 6:30pm. It was sad to see them go. Man, time flies…
