I almost fall off a GIANT cliff on Idaho Wyoming border filmed with Liquid Image video goggles, wearing a avivest avalanche pack.
HOLY SH*T! i would of definitely crapped my pants!
i am far from religious, but…
JEEEESUUUUUUSSSSSS i would be shitting myself
That was scary just watching!
Hahaha I would have died from a lack of shit in my body. It would have been all in my pants.
That guy is a knob for going that close to the edge with a heavy mobile though.
i have no experience in back country but common sense tells me to approach any and everything with caution hahaha i think once he realised how close he was to possible death he handled the situation very good.
holy crap!!!!!!!
That guy is a knob for going that close to the edge with a heavy mobile though.
My thoughts exactly. I don’t know what he was thinking going so close to the cornice on a heavy sled.
Cornices can be invisible from the behind approach - I know after going off the one in GCB in ‘09 that collapsed behind me. Everything should be checked from multiple angles first.
All the adrenaline and excitement of fresh snow gives you a rush that turns off the safety mechanism in your brain. It’s very easy to write off a persons intelligence but until you shit your own pants it’s impossible to gain wisdom from these situations.
“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” (and wiser). But without tempting death how do you gain strength of mind and the wisdom to avoid the mistakes these situations present?
And where is the footage of him dropping down that face that would now be perfectly safe????
Far out - check this one out
GoPro mounted on hood of Polaris, sledder sidehilling triggers slide 100M above him, 1 meter deep. Pulled SnoPulse airbag backpack to stay afloat. Sled burried, sledder not.
I think sledding as a sport is stupid. Sleds should only be used to access places to snowboard. Look at the first clip. He is in a beautiful part of the world with amazing snow, and then you have this lound annoying “waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh” from the sled ruining it all
You know that was my first thought too! All I could keep thinking is how all that lovely peace was ruined by all that noise!
Both those runs would have been quiet enjoyable to Skin up.
I had to turn off the volume on the first one until the cliff bit
Wow both very close and frightening moments. Could have ended very differently, very easily.
wow
