I wish the Terje came in a 150, I’d be so keen for that!

I think it’s way cool how YES have been fairly size appropriate for the riders they chose for each board length.

I’m all kinds of stoked that I get to have Craig Kelly staring up at me.

I don’t think Jamie should be on the 150 though.

Yeah, I guess it was a tough call when they got to the smaller sizes.

One thing that pisses me off is that YES have dicked around with the specs/sizing of the ‘Greats’ this time around - so each board (except for the 150) is now either (comparatively) wider for its length, or longer for its width. Disappointing.

i agree - but once you see the Jamie Lynn - you will be stoked…...

I wish that was the case (both Jamie Lynn & being able to have one of these boards) but its not. I know of Jamie Lynn’s awesomeness and the respect he has from so many people…but everyone has favourite riders & people whose riding strikes a chord with them. Unfortunately, I haven’t personally seen much of that riding so don’t have much personal experience of his awesomeness = not particularly excited about having a board with his face on it. Peter Line & Terje are different.

I love the GREATS idea but I reckon there will be a lot of people out there who won’t end up getting one because the rider whose board they want most won’t come in their size…and they don’t have enough money to just buy a snowboard because of the picture on it. wink

This was sent to me by the guys at Nitro:

Nitro Snowboards launch Koroyd Engineered core in 2013 range

Nitro snowboards have launched their new collection of snowboards for the 2012/13 season and headlining the range is a series of boards incorporating Koroyd cores.

Koroyd is an engineered core with unrivalled consistency of production and performance. Nitro Snowboards’ new collection provides a ride that simply has not been experienced on snow before.

Originally developed for use in aerospace applications, this is the first time the technology has been made available to the extreme sports markets.

Historically lightweight cores used in snowboards have been unable to offer a dampening and quality of ride that can be appreciated by a wide range of riders. The engineering behind Koroyd’s patents ensure that the cores react in a very precise and predictable manner and that the boards give consistent feedback.

The weight saving is evident from the moment you pick up your first board, but the key achievement from Nitro is to combine this light-weight construction with very smooth and manageable manageable ride characteristics - allowing you to concentrate on pushing your limits.

The new range launched at ISPO 2012 includes two unique constructions; “The Ultimate” is Nitro’s flagship model and uses a Full Core construction whilst Nitro have also upgraded their entire “Factory Series” using a Hybrid Core construction.

I only got the chance to ride the Burton Joystick 154 with Malvita EST bindings today. Wasn’t the best conditions for V-Rocker today, but the bindings were really confortable.

Here’s a few photos from the demo…
