Triple Base Technology

Avatar

Referring to Lobster and Bataleon, has anyone tried out what this technology is like? It looks super sketchy but it also looks like you could get some crazy amount of advantage when it comes to throwing spins.

I’ve been looking into buying one of the Lobster boards because they just look like crazy fun!

No personal experience with it, but everything I’ve heard about it has been positive.

I haven’t tested any of them myself, but there’s some member feedback and a video explaining how it works in this thread: https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/4119/

Shaner has been riding a Bataleon Jam for most of the season here in Whistler. I’ve just sent him a message to check this thread.

I’ve tested the Whatever last spring. For a few runs that I did, I didn’t really like it. Feels a bit weird, don’t really know how to explain it.

Id it imagine it to be the weirdest feel at first but after that, it would be smooth sailing and fun. Im looking into the Lobster Parkbaord or the Bataleon Evil Twin. Is the airobic anything like the Evil Twin?

I was also looking at the disaster but I don’t like the idea of not having a sintered base.

how are you going to be riding it? the evil twin and the airobic have different width of tbt in the nose to tail in the centre of the board airobic has jib tbt whereas the eviltwin has twin tbt. the airobic does not have a sintered base but it is still pretty damm quick. the disaster is slightly softer then the airobic but still no where near a noodle due to camber profile so you can take it all over the mountain in Australian resorts. the evil twin is stiffer then the airobic and has narrow tip to tail tbt but not super stiff. i was contemplating going for an eviltwin but wanted something softer so i looked at the airobic and am super stoked with that decision. i still could have gone for a softer feel of the disaster as the airobic was stiffer than i imagined but its perfect soft flex for all over perisher for eg. without being too soft and a stiff park board. i mainly use mine for park/jib/all mountain in Australia. the lobster parkboard is a slightly softer evil twin with twin tbt

this will help you for 2012 models but 2013 which we will have this winter are different again in tbt types so there is a 2013 one here too

It would take a bit to get used to. I tried a Fun Kink in 09 and it rides fine but I 50/50’d a box and slid right off the side due to it. If I gave it a good chance I’d be surprised if I didn’t like it though.
