But yes thanks Finney!! You are top of the pops now!

Check it out…
Woohoo I leave for Vancouver in a week tomorrow!!
I’m so pumped to be finally heading over AND to be buying my first new board
Without knowing too much about what’s out there, I’m leaning towards a NeverSummer Pandora.
But the question is: am I better off shoping in Van or Whistler?
Also, if anyone has any other (Women’s) board reccos (want to be able to shred lots of pow, but also fast tree turns and a bit of park….) I’m all ears
Pretty much the same for both, Van have more stores but pricing wise it’s the same.
Guess you’ll be bumpin into a few of us over there jacs????? Me and Mrs Miz will be there in 5 days time!!!!!
We picked up a new all round board for her, a YES Basic because its got a bit of everythin and made to do the lot!!!!! (even though she is a blue groom cruiser)
Oh, and I also hear that the Burton Blender has also had a lot of love around these parts!!!!!
so what are peeps up too for aus day eve , day , night ?
Hey jacs, you must be getting so excited!
There’s plenty of shopping in Van and Whistler. Hardly seems worth a day shopping around Vancouver if you can do it in Whistler when you arrive - it’s just more convenient. I think you’ll probably start getting some good deals this time of year.
For boards, I recommend you look at the Burton Feelgood Flying V (or regular Feelgood if you want full camber). Basically it’s an excellent women’s do-it-all snowboard. The Flying V and directional shape will give you float in pow and quick turning in the trees. And it’s essentially a freestyle board, so it will be great in the park too. A friend of mine recently demoed the board, and then went on buy it. I know Showcase in Whistler had a nice stash of the boards.
Actually, at Showcase you can rent any of the top end boards (basically to demo it), and if you go on to buy any Burton board, you get all that hire money taken off the price. Pretty good deal if you want to demo a few boards first. Just a thought.
Make sure you hit us up when you get there.
Wicked wicked. I’ll def be hitting you all up when I arrive, particularly as I don’t know a soul!
Thanks for the advice re boards; the Burton Feelgood Flying V sounds good although I am anxious about the idea of being locked in to Burton bindings (I have been considering contrabands). I actually heard that you can demo boards for free and just leave your credit card with them incase you damage it (or take off with it). I’ll check this out.
Does anyone know whether the shops in Whistler stock neversummer?
Will I need to spend a day in Van to get my phone sorted or can I do that in Whis too? I just want to get a local sim for my iphone.
really depends on what network you want to go with, have a look at the deals from the major ones, bell, rodgers ,virgin i am sure there are others. i have a vigin plan i am happy with just make sure you get a Whistler number if you do get sim in van
Not sure on Never Summer in Whistler but Boardroom in Vancouver has them.
You can find Never Summer in Whistler. I’m fairly sure Katmandu sells them, maybe a couple of other stores too. Katmandu is right next to KFC, which is right near the IGA grocery store (biggest in Whistler so not hard to find).
You’re not locked into Burton bindings with a Burton Channel board. The board comes with discs for the Channel, so you can mount any bindings which use the regular sized discs onto the board.
My number is 604 906 2683 (Jeremy). Feel free to call me when you get to Whistler.
When will you be back Jeremy?
I’ll be back in Whistler by Wednesday evening (Feb 1).
That should give me plenty of time!!!!!
