Suggestions on board.

So iv been riding afew seasons now, would say im a fairly confident rider.

Last season I was up (2010) i found my boot to be waaay to big, wear a size 10 shoe, and was riding a size 12 boot.

Should I be wearing the same size boot as shoe?

Also, being a 12boot, I ended up with massive hell and toe over hang, just delt with it as I didnt have the coin to buy new boots

Will be going back to do a season again this year, and looking at heading over to Canada at the end of the year.

Probably wont be buying a new board untill I get OS, but wouldnt mind some info.  Will be buying some new boots tho.

The board im riding at the moment is a ‘07 152 Capita Stairmaster.
The waist width is 257mm.  Is that going to be to small for my feet in a smaller boot?

Im abit of an all round rider, but love this board.  Was considering bringing this board to Canada with me to chuck around in the park and have something bigger for the mountains.

Any info on comparing sizes with boots and boards would be great.

Cheers.

Usually boots are 1/2 to 1 size smaller than your regular shoe size. But always go to a store to buy boots and let them do a boot fit for you.

Hey Matty,

I usually find most people’s snowboard boots are smaller than their shoe size (probably an average of half a size), some might be the same size depending on the actual boot and their desired comfort level. Personally, I wear a size 10 shoe and a size 9 snowboard boot, although I downsize a lot.

Even with size 10 boots, the 257mm waist width on your board is more than adequate.

What type of board are you after? Do you know what sort of camber profile you want to ride?

EDIT: I’m going to move this thread to Equipment and Products.

i wear a 10.5 shoe and a 10 boot (but I don’t fit in all 10 boots). If I go with a 10 boot, I have a 2 week break in period which is quite painful, then i can use the boot for 2 seasons (100 days), otherwise I get a 10.5 boot which feels great for the first season and is all loosy goosy the 2nd season.

The narrowest waist I ride is a 250, I don’t like anything more than 256

So my boots must be waaaaaayy to big then!  Think there from ‘06..

My boot size has been putting me way off on what board to get then, as I thought maybe I need a wide board, but stoked to hear that 9-10 isnt to big for a 257m waist

Im all about the positive camber, mostly what I like about the stairmaster I think, really poppy, throw’s you where you want to be, feels more like I can launch out of jumps.

Have been looking at just updating my Capita to the most recent stairmaster.

If the Stairmaster has been working well for you and you’re stoked on it - sounds like a good enough reason to buy a new one.

Also have you looked at something like the Rome Agent or the Rome Mod? I’d love to get on either of those.
