Hello all,
I’m new the forums here, just been browsing around for a bit and you all seem like a pretty helpful bunch so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to make an account.
Two seasons ago I purchased a board from a friend, who apparently cared more about making some money off of me then he did making sure I was getting a board that would work well for me. I used to snowboard quite a bit as a kid, until I turned about 12-13 and broke the board I had, and until recently hadn’t got back into it. So, as a beginner snowboarder not knowing much about real snowboards or my needs, I made an impulsive decision and just bought what he offered. After making a couple trips to some local hills, I completely embarrassed myself, falling constantly and eventually breaking my arm. I didn’t remember snowboarding being nearly this hard, as I was fairly decent as a kid(at least able to make it down hills without falling).
This tough love interaction with the snow got me to do some research on snowboards themselves and how to choose which is right for me. Saving you guys some of the messy details, I realize now that my current board is wrong for me in almost every aspect. I have searched tirelessly online trying to find my snowboard and what it goes for new to no avail. This is where you guys come in. I need to purchase a new board, but first I would like to sell my current one. I have no idea what to even ask for it, so give me your honest opinions.
The board is a Forum Youngblood 150cm, complete with a rubber stomp. It measures 240mm at the waist. It is in VERY good condition, with the only considerable marking on the nose which will be shown in one of the pictures. There are minor scratches on the base from riding, but absolutely no coreshots. I will be selling the board by itself, bindings not included.
Here is the nick on the nose I mentioned..
Since I am 6’ tall, 175lbs with a size 13 US boot, this board is obviously too small for me. The toe overhang was attributed to many falls and the lack of length for my size kept me unbalanced the whole time. I appreciate all of your comments and opinions, just give me your honesty in what I should expect for this board on a website like ebay or craigslist.
Thanks!
50 to 100 bucks since it is branded
No idea what you would get for it but go for a 157-162 in a rockered board of some description would be my tip.
Put it up for $200 and see if you get a bite. Just make sure you put down “Forum Youngblood snowboard (From the same makers as Burton Snowboards)” lol
You might just sell it for a good price.
The main issue is that it is an older model (I have never seen that design…) so your best bet is to sell to someone who knows nothing about snowboarding!
Go on nthn, ya can say the L word!!!!! I wont say anythin!!!!!
Alright thanks fellas. I think I’ll start with putting a listing up on Craigslist asking for $200 or BO, see what kind of offers/interest I get in it.
Welcome to Boardworld, DomMattarella.
I think $200 is a reasonable asking price. You might not quite get that but it’s worth a shot. Anything over $100 would be good, I think.
Let us know when you’re ready to start looking for a new board and set of bindings. We can definitely help you out there.
Just the board? I think that’s a $100 max in my opinion. Couple of seasons old right? $200 max with the bindings.
wait til june to sell it, otherwise there will be not much interest in it at all
Skip, you are missing the point. Dom has a branded board in good condition. All he needs is someone who wants a “Cheap” board off craigslist who doesn’t really know what he wants and BAM $200 sale. or $150.
Personally I wouldn’t pay $100 for it… but thats me.
But this may also depend if you are in AUS or USA. As you said Craigslist I am assuming you are in the USA and therefore buying a new board is 1/2 that of Australia and therefore you might be lucky to sell it for $100 (especially when you can get a new board from dogfunk for $300 (Forum Recon) lol)
Go on nthn, ya can say the L word!!!!! I wont say anythin!!!!!
Don’t look at anything else at all just go straight out and buy this
or this
or this
or this
Or indeed anything from Mervin Mfg.
Then when you start asking about bindings be prepared for Mizu to tell you all about these in glorious detail
Personally I wouldn’t pay $100 for it… but thats me.
If he put a Scally Wag sticker on it, you’d pay ten times that much!!!!!
Ahh, the immaculate collection!!!!!
They have got the new 2013 range of FLUX on display now though!!!!!

Why do they make them in such horrid preschool finger paint colours? Kinda happy with my Rides with the metal base and heel cup, I reckon they’d be hard to break, what are the Flux’s made of Mizu? I dunno if anyone is gunna warrant a busted binding when a 6’3” 120kgs man hands them in saying I don’t know why but they broke ha ha ha!
One of my pairs is called the Super Diamond, a name chosen for what they are made from!!!!! (Now called the DMCC)
Check the link on the 2013 range, the colour ways are a lot tamer, and they pretty much all come in straight black anyways!!!!!
@TJ: woops, a bit of misunderstanding on my part haha
