Silly Flux: do they actually call their capstraps ‘toe masks’???? LOL Don’t they know masks are for faces?
Here, wrap some of this “masking” tape around ya face, Gamblor!!!!!
Thought I spotted a pair of these on whis the other day when I was at work.
Interesting tech thats for sure, but I just wonder what happens if you get heavy snow/ice caught under it when turning.. wouldn’t it then be a hinderance? Just thinking of my malavitas with the reflex and whenever I lift the bed off it straight after riding theres Ice/snow all through the empty sections.
that’s weird since there’s no way that snow should be able to get in under the fullbed.
I tried some union contact pros the other day. They felt awesome except for the straps and buckles.
Yeah I was a touch surprised to see the whole area inside around the disc all filled when I went to loosen the screws to wax for the first time since fitting them.
That comment on union seems to be a common issue in regards to the straps not fitting correctly - Marc my housemate wasn’t overly impressed with the build of his old unions which he has last season.
i got a pair of forces last winter and sold them as soon as I could this year.
Now that they’ve gone fluro with their colours it’s so much easier to spot them on the hill. Constantly see them heading into the park haha
Still absolutely stoked with my Malavita’s - cannot fault them in any way.
Mizu, it begs the question, why do you like flux so much? I just don’t see the point, they seem to be about the same as every other binding out there!
What’s not to like????? FLUX were the originator of the “Toe Mask”, they have buckles that work with ease, they have “UU Fit” ankle straps that are anchored inside the heel cup of the base, rather than comin out of a slot, therefore givin it a tighter/more conformed/comfortable fit around any boot!!!!! Although they look like any other binding, they are a company that have introduced a lot of great tech to the sport and continue to do!!!!!
Bein Japanese owned and made also is a bonus in my mind, as the Japanese take pride in what they make and are willin to back themselves when things go wrong with their products!!!!!
While all boards look the same, it’s kinda like your love for Lib-Tech and it’s C2 and Magne?????
I dont think my love of Lib and C2 comes close to your levels of flux love/promotion! I just like rocker and the various versions of it, it does help that T Rice is on of my fave riders and is on Lib’s though! Maybe Torstein will switch within the Quik empire and ride Libs as well and then life will be perfect ha ha ha ha!

My money is on you havin a dream about this tonight!!!!!
Just check to see what bindings they are rockin for me!!!!!
if you’re having dreams about Mizu, you need help mate!
You’ll be able to give him a referral to the Dr that you saw!!!!!
Dr Feelgood?
That’s the one!!!!! Dr Burton Feelgood!!!!!
From memory they both ride Burtons yeah? No I wont be dreaming about Mizu until he sends me that pic of him I have requested in the bright orange mankini and ugg bboots with winnie reds tucked in the shoulder strap and he definitely loses cred points for manscaping any areas that might be exploding out of it.
TMI anyone?
Hey Chucky, I hope they are paying you for all that promo
But seriously it looks interesting, I would love to try it out. Looks like it would have interesting effects on carving. And I understand what your saying about pressure distribution because that is how Arbor’s griptech edges work.
However… (sorry if I’m being a hater, I haven’t tried them so this is just a thought)
1. No, I don’t think they would be good for park because in the air the board would just be flopping around. Jibbing?? Hell no. Imagine jumping on for a boardslide with no control of where your edges are . And even if the front edge doesn’t bite the rail. How can you apply more pressure to the rear edge without leaning back more than you usually would.
2. They must have thought of this already but…. how do you stop snow from jamming under the binding?? lol
Like I said though, I’m not hating on it cause I haven’t tried it yet. I’m just thinking out loud.

Damn!!!!! You’ll have to wait till it grows back now!!!!!

Hehe, that’d be nice. (whoever’s going to be distributing these in Australia - are you listening?)
This should put your mind at ease (it seems you’re not the only one with these misgivings):

An observation from someone who’s just tested some of these bindings:
“Handflexing them they had no more give from the board than any binding would. In fact I’ve ridden “normal” bindings that I was able to pull further off my board than these with my hands. Significantly further.”
Basically, there’s no loose play in the binding/board interface whatsoever. It requires your bodyweight on the toe/heel edges to get those bushings moving - otherwise they’re relatively stiff.
2. They must have thought of this already but…. how do you stop snow from jamming under the binding??
From the same tester:
“I couldn’t see a way for snow to pack itself in under it. We didn’t ride deep pow but there was some fresh snow and when I popped it open at the end of the run there was none that had gotten inside. Should it ever happen it’s so easy to access and clear it out. Again though, I can’t foresee that being a problem.”
Hmmm interesting. I would really like to try them.
And still, I stand by the no good on rails idea. They may not flop around but you would have incline or angulate (or both) further back then usually to keep the pressure off the front edge. Which usually ends in your mr tailbone meeting mr rail in an unfriendly encounter. Or face to rail if it’s a frontside boardslide.
Still, I think they could have a definite use in freeriding. I’m even more curious now.
