Hey guys,
I’m about to buy a new board,
Just wondering if anyone can help us out with some advice or opinions on a couple of boards?
I did some research and I think I’d be suited to a springloaded board with Rocker and camber as I am an intermediate all round rider
I’m 5’11 & 195pds, my current board is a 2001 ride profile, so I’ve never ridden a rocker/camber board.
Here are some I’m looking at
Burton process flying v
Burton Sherlock
Burton custom flying v
Ride machete
Ride agenda
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers!

Hey Fatboy,
Where are you going to be riding mainly? What style of riding, i.e. park, freeride, all mountain, a bit of everything?
By the sounds of it you’re after a board to do it all. In which case, I would highly recommend the Burton Custom Flying V. It’s an awesome do-it-all board which can handle anything.
The Sherlock is sick, but it’s a bit more powder oriented. Good if you’re riding overseas a lot and enjoying big pow days.
The Sherlock (also available in Flying V) is softer. It’s a fun board but not as geared to all-mountain as the other two. Nice and buttery but not as stable.
The Ride Machete is another nice board. Top end freestyle but it will handle anything you throw at it. It has the Lowrize rocker which is pretty much flat between the feet and mellow rocker in the nose and tail. I’d still take the Custom Flying V for versatility. If you’re riding a lot of park, this could be the go.
Ride Agenda: take the Machete over the Agenda.
I’m looking at Burtons Vapor.
It’s a bit pricy but I’m about to buy it.
i so hope your buying the vapor as a park board

Why the Vapor? What do you intend to use it for?
I have a Vapor, and it’s a nice board, but I use my other boards far more often.
Hey Fatboy
So you say you think your suited to a springloaded board. I’m just wondering if you think that because the ‘Burton board finder’ told you so.
I actually think that thing is really helpful with helping people buy boards BUT if you tell us specifically what kind of riding you like to do, then we might be able to suggest a board that’s perfect for you.
Also it would help to know your boot size too
Yeah thanx guys,
I went to STM the other day and got an excellent deal on new board and boots.
Burton custom flying V 2012 and burton imperial boots, they we’re very helpful.
I used the board finder on the burton website as an extra bit of advice as I am an intermediate all round rider with no specific preferences and have never ridden a rocker/camber board.
Cheers!
Great to hear! What bindings did you get? Or did you already have bindings?
I have a Rise machete 158 with burton missions on it and I use it for all round boarding (getting more in the park lately)
and I love it!
But burton flying V are good boards as far as I know!
enjoy the riding!!
I already had some 07’ burton custom bindings, so they suited the board/boots setup

Did you pick up some Burton M6 Retro Discs to enable you to fit your disc bindings on the ICS board?
i so hope your buying the vapor as a park board
Got a problem with that?
not at all
i just want to see it =)
Given I’m in Big Bear at the moment, I’ll see what I can do for you!

Vapor with some C60 bindings and Driver X boots. Best park set up ever.
