STOKED I took that crazy kid of mine to his first ever live gig (he’s only just turned 14) last night - legendary British ska supergroup, Bad Manners!
STOKED it was at one of Sydney’s best live venues - The Metro.
STOKED it was originally only supposed to be to watch the sound check and meet the band, but the promoter arranged for him to be allowed to stay for the whole gig in the VIP section, and go backstage after.
STOKED he’s soooooooo cool, that even though most people these days have probably never heard of Bad Manners, he sang along with most of their songs and knew most of the words - but doesn’t know a single Justin Bieber song.
I dunno, If we put on Baby at the next shred and he sings, I’m going to be mighty disappointed!

Just in case anyone’s interested, Bad Manners were a ska group who were huge in the UK in the 80’s, fronted by a crazy big skinhead named Buster Bloodvessel. I used to roadie for a ska band in the late 80’s, so I got into all the music. This is Bad manners:
