That’s great, Chantelle. I just read through your three posts and I’m looking forward to reading more this season.

Anyway, great work and keep it up!

Rider’s Blog: Day 22
I didn’t do much riding today. I went out with our friends from the Bahamas last night and had a nice sleep in this morning. I caught up with Shane, Tyler (my friend who I used to work Snowboard School with), Finney, and Bent. We cruised a couple of runs down to Red and Garb. Not too much to report on the riding front, unfortunately.
Last night, we went into the Village to watch the Fire and Ice show. It’s on every Sunday evening if anyone is interested. They basically build a big kicker at the base of Whistler, and a bunch of skiers and snowboarders do tricks through the ring of fire. They always have music pumping and there is always a good vibe down there. The GLC was absolutely packed; we actually needed to queue up just to stand on the patio up there.
Blurry but you get the idea
GLC patio on the left
Fireworks after the show
woa epic pics, good night settings on your camera… couldn’t ever get good pics of fire and ice. good pics = win
Rider’s Blog: Day 23
25cm of overnight snow can be a bit deceiving in Whistler. With the freezing level at 1500m and lots of precipitation coming through during the morning, it was always going to be a wet one up there. The winds were 80+km/h in the alpine today, so there was no chance of it opening - I didn’t even hear a bomb go off.
Anyway, I headed up early and did the short hike to the top of Ratfink. The snow was seriously deep up the top, I’m talking at least thigh deep. I got a nice line through the top and into the trees. It was once I crossed over into the second set of trees that the snow starting becoming super heavy. I did another run though some other trees, then bombed a run down to Mid Station; I was soaked haha.
I cruised another run through the Whisky Jack trees; it was almost too wet and heavy to even get through. Rode down to Creekside and called it a day. I’m feeling a bit more positive about tomorrow morning. It was raining super hard down here this evening and the freezing level has lowered and is meant to drop to the village. The alpine should be pretty good when it finally opens. I hope you guys have been having some fun days out there!
Spewin about the rain dude but you get that from time to time, just like at Mizu’s house??????????
Another quick edit from HEART FILMS…
P.S. Shut up, Greeny!
Rider’s Blog: Day 24
I went riding with my friend, Thomas, from the Bahamas today. They leave today so it was his last day on the mountain. We were hoping the alpine would open today (I think I saw Harmony open but Peak stayed closed - at least it was at 12:30pm).
Lift lines were pretty bad this morning, especially at Red as I came up from Creek. I ended up riding to Mid Station where it was a bit better. We cruised a few laps to Garb, did a couple through the trees although it was fairly crusty in most areas. Did a couple of hit run laps and found side hits on other runs as well.
Overall, it was pretty crusty and icy - especially on the lower half of the mountain. Cold temps, no alpine, lots of people, so I was home by 1pm for lunch. Michelle and I are heading to Vancouver for a night, so I’ll see you guys soon!
hey guys thanks for the offers! but i don’t actually have a phone as of yet, i brought an unlocked aussie phone but apparently since its not a smart phone i cant get any pre paid sims with it :(
