Installing a stereo in a Subaru
You need 3 things to find out whats what if you cant find a wiring diagram for the car.
(and if the wires dont say what they are, which they should)
Scissors
Multi-meter
Electrical tape.
Cut existing plug from car’s wiring harness
If the wire in the cars harness dont say what they are.
Muti-meter a red wire, and see if its got constant battery voltage - If yes, that’l go to your RED on the CD player
If its non-powered, strip it, re-attach it, and tape it.
Black is always earth
Yellow is def accessories
What other wires are you concerned about? There’ll be 4 speaker wires coming from the CD player. and they’ll all be labelled.
If you cant find the right wires, you can also run new wiring from the battery and accessory points.
