Hey wombat! Welcome to the Boardworld community!
Hey Everyone,
Name is Mike, i’m from Sydney and have been riding for a few years now. Spent 08/09 in Whistler working as a lifty and saw a bunch of boardworld stickers around the place there. Heading back over at the end of this year to avoid reality for a bit longer whilst I can still get a visa.
Cheers.
Hey finney, welcome to Boardworld! There’s a good chance a few of those stickers were put there by me. I’m guessing I’ve seen you before, I was instructing on Whistler mountain during the 08/09 season. I will also be heading back at the end of October for the season. I hope you enjoy our community.
yeah there was a ton of them around staff housing up at glacier, knew it had to be someone who worked for the mountain haha
I worked on the village gondy for the first part of the season then spent the rest out on Symphony and Harmony.. nothing better than ride breaks on pow days thats for sure.
One of the guys filming and editing for us last season was living up at Glacier.

Welcome to Boardworld, TJ!
Hey guys just joined recently after a lot of pushing from the better half! I’m snowcrazy’s fiance, and have only been boarding for 2 days, but enjoyed every minute of it. She bought me a board this year so hopefully more boarding to come!
Hey mate, welcome to Boardworld! If there is anything we can help you with as your riding progresses, please let us know. Thank you for getting your man on here snowcrazy!
My names Myanna, from Sydney. Boarding for the last year. Tried it when i was young, took out people like you do in ten pin so I went onto ski’s (i know i know bad move hahaha) but i did have fun. Then last year i was like screw it i am going back to snowboarding and had an absolute blast starting from the basics and slowly working my up. My brother was a huge motivation for me, he has awesome style as he boards and helped me out a lot.
I am currently studying a double degree of Law/Arts and as you can imagine I am extremely busy. Exam period at the moment, so I cant wait for them to be over and then head down to the snow. Love sports, especially motor sport e.g. F1/MotoGp/Surfing/Bodyboarding/Snowboarding/Go-Karting/Beach Volleyball and my beloved Soccer! Yes the WORLD CUP is on sooon yeeeha! Gotta love the early morning wake up calls filled with hot chocolate, ugg boots and soccer and coffee or beer if you fancy the buzz or that during that time of the morning especially!!
Other than that, enjoying life and making the most of every day.
Love my music and movies too!!

Hey Myanna and brizzle! Welcome to Boardworld.
Hey Mizu Kuma, welcome to Boardworld!
I just realised that I’ve been a part of this forum for a little over a year now, and have never formally introduced myself…
My name is Rob. The name Tills is a nickname given to me by my old friends, which comes from part of my surname. I currently live in Melbourne, although I originally hail from Sydney.
I was born in the awkwardly warm summer of 1981. I was a small baby and spent time in a makeshift humidicrib until I was able to sustain myself. I was also born with jaundice and had to spend several days under lamps to dispose of the problem. This in itself caused many other issues. The main one being that the incompetent registered nurse put me under the wrong wattage bulbs and now I have to spend the remainder of my life looking like mutated dna scrapings from Ernie Dingo’s well structured backside. People started assuming my parents had adopted me and they also started to believe this in the years to come.
The years from birth through to my first words and memories at the age of 7 are a blur. On the outside apparently I looked like a happy baby/toddler/kid but according to my older brothers there was a different tale to be told. Maybe it is these traumas that delayed my mental maturity, maybe it was when that donkey kicked me in the head. (It is quite embarrassing really. My entire family sits around every Quanza and shows the video and laughs, meanwhile I am dying a little on the inside) Either way something was awry. My oldest brother Ruttiger told me to the time my cousins and the neighbourhood children tied me to a totem tennis pole and took turns hitting my genitalia, this lasted for 3 odd hours and I hope that one day I can reap the whirlwind of vengeance I so richly deserve.
School was no easier for me really. My nicknames were either drool boy, monger or 14. Drool boy because of my muscious problem, monger because of my mottled colour and 14 because that was the record for how many pine cones they were able to shove into my anus whilst holding me down.
I excelled in school from an academic standpoint and by the time I reached the 5th grade I was heavily entrenched in the fantasy world of Tolkien and the absurdist works of Beckett and Stoppard. I learnt it was safer to stay indoors and make my own friends than brave the cruel world outside. This lesson was harshly taught to me on the night of Halloween 1992. I decided to go out trick or treating. That year I decided to dress as MC Hammer if he were a elfin prince of the woodland folk. It was all going along well until the 3rd house. I knocked on the door. It was Matthew Burtons grandfathers house. My memories from that point on are sketchy but I distinctly remember the word queer being used along with the phrase “go for the record” and my last memory before blacking out was my father screaming “You can fit more in than that.” My high school nick name was then 19.
I actually like the idea of installments so I will leave you now and regather my nightmares. Until next time my dear friends.
Adieu
Hahaha truth be told, I actually earned the nickname Mr 19, by breaking the record (used to be 14) for the most times you can make the little flappy door on a portaloo open and close during one slash. Without regulating or course. But the pine cone story sounds better.
