Snowboarding is more than a hobby… it’s a way of life…
What does snowboarding mean to me? Everything!
I first tried snowboarding in 2007, so I haven’t really been sliding for long, but the bug has bitten me… hard. After a minor set back in 2008 (broken wrist - mental note, do not chuck a sicky to go boarding!) I got back on the board, determined to continue learning.
My passion for boarding is for the love of feeling free when sliding down the mountain. Doesn’t matter who you are with or where you are, it is the best feeling. It continues when my head hits the pillow at night after a day on the slopes. Just like a rollercoaster, you feel like you are still riding.
I love sharing my passion and have managed to get my husband on to a board, he hasn’t looked back! My sister in law and her partner soon followed suit a year later. Another year on and my brother has joined in too. We all now own our own gear and can just head off for the mountains whenever we want.
Not much longer and I will have recruited a cousin and her partner.
As you can tell, I have gotten my family involved and the bug is spreading. We have so much fun everytime we hit the slopes.
I love meeting new people, and Boardworld has made that very easy! Meeting some people after the shred was awesome and I can’t wait to actually get to ride
with you all next season. What a great bunch of people Oh and getting to meet Travis Rice!!! WOW!!!
I knew I was dedicated to snowboarding when I gave up my 2003 XR6 for a 2002 Astra. I loved that car, but the Astra is easier to load up with the boards on
the roof and everything else in the back. Also, chains couldn’t be fitted to the XR6 so I guess the decision was easy
I had plans to celebrate World Snowboard Day (seriously, I have been driving around all week with ALL my gear in the car!) but I had to help my sister in law
move house. I did rep Boardworld though rocking the tee all day and even made sure when we drove from one side of town to the other I had their 3 snowboards
on my roof
I don’t have much video, but I have a massive amount of memories that will last a lifetime!
Hope you all had a happy world snowboard day and enjoy my video
*Please don’t judge me on my editing skills or video quality :-( - 10 points if you can guess where I chose the song from
As you can tell from my video, snowboarding has brought on a lot of great experiences and fun times with family and friends. My first time boarding, my husbands first time boarding, our first giant snowball, getting proposed to and just having a good time with family and friends. What more could you ask for?
And at least 15X in Victoria!!!!!!
Oi!!!
Nice work Blizz!
Blizz, it says 25 mins till they convert your vid…
Was this a premature videulation?
My video seems to be there sometimes and not there the next, hope it is working!!!
