Rider’s Blog: Day 13
Visibility was a shocker on the lower half of the mountain today, so I didn’t bother taking up the camera. I caught up with Tommy and his sister for a few runs as it is their last day of riding. There was no real evidence of fresh snow overnight and the cover is still quite icy. I cruised a few runs down to Mid Station, Garbanzo, Red Chair, and Creekside. Just taking it easy because of the low visibility and icy conditions. Crowds were pretty bad at Emerald Chair. Not much else to report today unfortunately. Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to getting a fresh cover of snow.
I thought you were goin in march, Dan?????
Let’s count three months from now, Dad.
@ Mizu. It’s 3 months to the day in fact.

Sounds like December hasn’t produced the goods as much as expected. Hopefully you get some good snowfall soon.
Yeah December has been pretty rubbish Dan… can’t really deny it. Hopefully we get some decent storms coming through soon.
So Finney, what chair are you working at?
Working on Red again so far.

Yeah, thanks heaps for that Dan!!!!!
I’ve just rang GoPro, and your no longer able to buy one on my authority!!!!!

Yeah, it’s just holdin off for when I get there!!!!! I specifically booked lots of pow in my package!!!!!
Need at least another 50-100cm on the base before I’ll be happy. 7th heaven still has tonnes of exposed rocks and I haven’t even considered going off into the trees etc yet as I know that whole area needs a good base before you even consider going in there.
how do you like the stagger jacket, Rider?

He can’t walk properly when he’s got it on!!!!!
Hilarious, dad.
I really like the jacket, Gamblor. One of the best I’ve owned for sure. I think it’s better than my last Stagger jacket, especially the quality of the zips and the big, easy-to-use pockets. The pow grip thing hasn’t been used yet (we need more snow), but I think it would work really well. The built in face mask is a nice idea but it’s kind of bulky at the back of the neck - I guess I could easily remove it but I want to try it out first.
The big disappointment is the jacket to pant interface. This one only has a standard powder skirt with three clip attachments for the pants. My old jacket actually zipped to the pants all the way around. I didn’t use it often but it really came in handy on big powder days. I don’t know why they would have removed this feature - it was sick!
What’s the “Pow Grip” thing?????
Pow Grip
This patent pending cuff design features a hidden strap contoured to the inside of your sleeves that can be flipped out and wrapped around the thumb of your glove to prevent snow from creeping up your sleeves.
Ohhh, but do they still have gaiters?????
