I’m stoked landing my first frontside boardslide 
Tuesday night I was up til 4am watching the last day of the final event of the bodyboarding world tour. It was held at a super crazy wave called El Fronton in the Canary Islands. A dude that crackers and I know a bit called Jase Finlay who is from wollongong got a wild card into the event. He’s usually just a freesurfer as he loves big waves, but he just signed a board contract with one of the events main sponsors and they gave him a shot.
So stoked for him as he ended up taking the whole comp out! He beat a number of ex-world champions, world title contenders and also the guy who was crowned this years world champ during the event along the way. The best part of all this (in my opinion) is that this guy is super humble and doesn’t think he’s too cool for anybody. He’s a crazy talent and deserves every success!

ah yeah - argh! Sadly, it was a bit of an anti-climax for me…I should have known cos I was wayyyy over excited before it. I still had a good time, but I got stuck in a pretty crap place where the sound was bad, and I could only see Em on the screen. I also had some super boring people around me - the kind that make you wonder why they bothered coming cos they just stand there.
Most of the songs he did were just a couple of verses and then blended medley style into the next song…which was good because it meant you had time to hear quite a few different songs. I really enjoyed “kill you” and some of the other older stuff that he did. I really wished that I’d have enough money to get the tickets for the Lose yourself zone but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to justify spending $300 on any concert ticket. My point-and-shoot cam is broken so I didn’t get to take any photos, either - but you probably wouldn’t have seen anything anyway cos we were too far away!
stoked i have like…4 hours left of “work” (if you can call it that) untill i am on holidays. the next 2 days until my flight leaves is going to be hell…i hate waiting
stoked im getting new gear for christmas. so keen!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for letting me know, cords. That sucks but it still must have been quite a buzz being there. You’d think the organisers would get it right for such a big concert. Hmmm.
