she reckons they would have charged me extra as the board bag can only contain snowboard & boots confused

it’s all pretty confusing but i hope she was right, and when i rock up to my flight with a suitcase and a boardbag i don’t get charged!

EEK!

Has anyone had this with qantas?

Am worried that I wont be able to take the wheelie gig full of my stuff!

if the gig is your only checked luggage than you will have no problems once you start lugging two pieces of checked luggage (like what black banana seems to be doing) that’s where fine print comes in

dont advise taking two pieces of checked to japan anyway…there really is no need + it makes travelling in public transport with your gear from hard to freaking hard

Coolio thanks!

Not doin’ public transport… this is a princess tour wink

I read it the same way as you have, Stockee!!!!! That doesn’t mean that Qantas will interpret it the same way though!!!!! Best bet, give them a call and get a name to quote if they wanna back out at check in time!!!!!

Did ya read the dimensions clause below it????? I assume that ya second bag will be ya board?????

Yeah. Last year my mate took his board bag over to NZ flying Air NZ, the dimensions were fine but he had to check it in at the special baggage counter or whatever it is they call it. I assume qantas would be the same but I might do as you suggested and give them a ring…

Argh!!!! Why can’t I just be in canada already so I don’t have to think about travelling and luggage restrictions!!!! smile

Let us know how ya go!!!!!

Pretty sure that the seperate check in for ya board is just that their conveyer belt system can’t handle the size of the bag, so ya have to hand it over to guys at another section!!!!! SYD Airport?????

yeh its just oversized baggage collection counter. we did it on the way home from nz both times.

So after perusing the Air Nz website, i get one checked bag (economy flights) and the 2nd checked bag is an extra $60. not too bad, extra $120 return for an extra checjed bag(all my internal US flights are with Southwest=2 free checked bags)

i can live with it

Just gave them a ring, each bag can weight up to 23kg and if you go over it’s a $50 excess charge.

Thats only to the Americas, according to the lady i spoke to.
