DC boots??
Hey guys,
Does anyone have any advice or opinions on the DC range of boots??
The quality? The lace up system? Pro’s/cons?

What lace system are ya lookin at, as different models have different set ups?????
If they are Single Boa lace then I would look elsewhere, as these tend to give ya uneven pressure points on ya feet!!!!! Double Boa are supposed to be better, but I have yet to try that, so I can’t vouch for how well it works!!!!!

I’ve got a pair of DC Methvin that are a couple of seasons old now.
They don’t have the boa but the speed lace pulls you can see on the side. They also have a pump system similar to the old reebok pumps that inflates the ankle support to reduce heel lift. This suprisingly, is of way more benefit than I initially gave it credit for. As far as durability goes I have done 2 seasons of around 20 days or more each and they are still solid as and generally pretty comfortable, no issues with getting cold yet either.
DC makes good boots. It really depends on the model and your foot shape. The most important factor is getting the correct fit.
Which lacing system are you referring to? As Mizu mentioned, they use a different systems on different models.
I’m interested in the BOA system, sick of laces and I like the idea of easy fine adjustments.
I’ve been looking at several pairs on eBay for a good price, I would need try before I buy.
Boarders at Brookvale have the DC park boots brand new for around $2-250 on eBay, would that mean I could try them on at the shop and still buy them eBay price??
If you’re looking at BOA, make sure you get the double BOA system.
We strongly support the Australian retail stores here on Boardworld. I would strongly suggest making your purchase at an actual strore in Australia. You might pay a little bit more but you’re getting customer service, warranties (all warranties are void if you buy from eBay or overseas), plus you’re helping support the stores which keep the Australian snowboarding industry alive.
Practically all stores now have a boot fitting fee of approximately $60 for this very reason. Support your local store and they will always have your back!
I have these DC park boots. Got them from STM snow in world square, not sure what happend to this store but its gone now. They were the most comfortable out of the ones in my price range. I used them for Park, all mtn, deep snow/ powderish snow in 2011. They are lace ups. I can see these lasting another season or two. good quality. But I mean with boots or any sport shoes fit is most important
i had DC boots with the single BOA. At the time i took the ease of lacing up those bad boys for granted. Wasnt until i went to a boot with regular laces that i realised how much i like BOA. But yeah like said above, fit is everything with boots, you dont want sore and/or blistered feet when out riding.
If you go BOA, like said above, make sure you go double BOA. The single doesnt give enough adjustability to fit you properly. I have a pair of DC Judges (single boa, older model) and I found the boa more of a hinderance than help. I now have laces on my K2 boots and much prefer laces. I actually find them quicker to put on and off than turning a little dial 100000 times

^ Pretty much what K2 said. I had single BOA’s on my first set of boots which I used for 2 seasons. I probably wouldn’t use them again either, definitely not enough adjustability compared to regular lace-up boots.
As for DC boots in general, they are super comfy and great quality make. As long as the boot fits you perfectly its the one for you

Agreed with K2 and Koper.
My single BOA was mad when I bought it, rode well for the first 25 days of the season then towards the end you were constantly doing them up and bad pressure points would cut circulation to your foot etc which really sucked.
I got speed laces now and they are awesome.
Another negative of the boa dial is it sticks out a fair bit from the boot. I was in NZ and getting off the bus and it was a tight squeeze. I must have cliped the dial on a seat because when I went to do them up, the dial was missing. I was left with out a boot and had to hire for the rest of the week. That said when I came back to aus they replaced it free of charge. But if something goes wrong it is a lot easier to get replacement laces than a new boa.
Speed laces (most are dual zone) are super affective. My inner has speed laces and normal laces on the boot.

selling stuff on ebay would cost them money in which they can probably just pass the savings to you
I got DC park lace ups. they are super comfortable. I was worried at first that the park flex would be a little too flexable on the mountain but i was surprised and impressed with their response on the mountain!
so responsive and yet they walk around like sneakers.
love them.
although im not a big fan of the rapid lace systems. multi zones etc… manual laces will always give the most versatility in my opinion, you can have them tight or loose in whatever area you like.
if a lace snaps they are easy to replace. unlike some of the other lacing systems.
