Hi guys,
Got into skiscene and snowbiz tonight and the guys/girls there were very helpful.
So atm I’m looking at:
Scott Avenger (white) men’s jacket in medium: $359 - 30%
Scott pants (black/grey) (roughly same price as jacket - 30%
Smith Phenom Goggles (Asian Fit) $189 (only pair that actually fit my face nice n snug without gaps)
I’m also keen on Saloman Savage 10.5 boots. $250
Nice one, xdfubar. Let us know if you have any questions.
Hey guys! Just wondering on the following:
1) Scott Outerwear - Good?Bad? Prices in NSW/VIC? stmonline didnt have scott outerwear?
2) Saloman Savage 10.5 Black - Comments? Ratings? Good/Bad? (They felt awesome on the feet, left is 10.5, right is 10, narrow feet)
3) Smith Phenom Asian Fit - Comments on Smith Goggles in general? Maybe recommend something else that may fit? I tried the Oakleys A-frames, Crowbar, a few Anon’s, Dragons, but there was a major gap just at the top of my nose. Also tried on an Electric EGB today and that fit ok, pretty much no gap at the top of the nose. (Electric EGB in red or green was $80)
4) How many layers would I need in Perisher? Jacket, shirt, thermals?
5) Also, I have Nike Combat Pro padded shorts that I use for gridiron, would these be suitable to wear underneath snow pants? Rather than buying a new pair just for snowboarding?
Cheers guys!

All three brands mentioned are more ski cultured brands as opposed to snowboarding, but are still all quality components!!!!!
Just remember that when ya buy outerwear for AUS, look for somethin that’s not to padded (ie, filled with too much down/polyester) so ya dont get too hot in our temperate climate, and somethin that has a high waterproof/breathability rating (ie 10,000mm/10,000mm minimum) that will keep ya dry when ya sweat and also when it’s a rainin!!!!!!
You like you buy!!!!! And if the goggles fit ya face the best, then they ARE the best goggles for YOU!!!!! Same goes with the boots!!!!!
Bang on with the required layers for Perisher - thermals as a base layer will both keep ya warm when it’s cold, and dry and cool when it’s hot!!!!!
If ya really feel the cold, then just chuck a thin crew on underneath ya jacket, and wear a face mask!!!!!
Padded shorts of any description with save ya a world of pain if ya not used to stayin upright a lot!!!!!
Hope this helps, fubar?????
hey guys.
put a scott jacket, bond pants, burton gloves, saloman boots on layby…all were 30-40% off from snowbiz.
the guys (and girls) there are really patient and helpful with good info etc. so anyone from brisbane shopping there, i’d recommend them.
the guys at skiscene are awesome as well, they just tend to do more so just clothing etc (some hardware) but definitely not as much as snowbiz.
anyways.
im starting to look into some thermals…icebreaker? good? the only one to get? model? prices?
and im still on the hunt for some goggles/asian fit that arent 190dollars.
Re: Goggles
Asian fits are hard to find generally small market of a small market
aside from the oakley asian fit i got the VZ feenom fit my face/helmet
but theres no guarantee anything that fits anyone elses face will fit yours
re: thermals
icebreaker is an awesome brand but anything merino wool will keep you will warm and dry
I use the kathmandu cheapy ones in Australia and NZ and these are fine for our winter
