Oakley & Shaun White Air + Style Beijing is dropping into the heart of the Far East for its second year—spearheading the snowboarding industry’s push into the potential-rich nation with the immense buzz, pageantry, music/entertainment spectacle and truly world class riding expected of an international Oakley sports event.
The 6-Star TTR contest, to be held in the country’s ultra-magnificent Olympic “Bird’s Nest” (Beijing National Stadium), is poised to push the level of Freestyle Snowboarding outside of the half pipe to all-time insane levels, while continuing to introduce the culture of action sports to Chinese society.
With legendary rippers and blossoming young chargers colliding amidst a breathtaking backdrop—including last year’s champion Sebastien Toutant and other Oakley Team Stars like Torstein Horgmo—the event is sure to deliver a spectacle like nothing else on Earth. All complemented by Chinese stars in the sport (Da Yang Yang and Ye Qiao Bo) taking the spotlight—and famous Chinese music artists getting the crowds raging with a truly authentic national soundtrack (Zhang Zhen Yue and MC Hot Dog).
Brace yourself.
will there be a scooter section?
Shaun was getting hated on for a long time before he fucked up and put his name on a scooter.
People hate him for being TOO talented. I find that kind of backwards.
*disclaimer - I do not support scooters… that is all

Yeah i agree, i didnt have any problem with shaun up until he really gave his credibility a kick in the pants with the whole scooter issue. I still even rock a pair of his snow boots, but a skateboarder lending his name to the modern day skatepark plague is pretty unforgivable.
Furthermore his popularity/talent & the hate issue can be thrown into a similar basket as ryan sheckler and to a lesser extent Bam Margera. I remember at the first globe world cup pretty much the whole crowd was cheering for the little skateboard protege ryan as he was hucking benihanas over the humps, now days cheers are replaced with boos and sexuality taunts, although alot of that is his fault, i cant help but think that alot of it stems from his talent (he is a pretty amazing skateboarder) and a jelousy that the average joe boarder has. Same thing with Bam, rad skateboarder, questionable life decisions = hated. Remember how many people were rocking bam related element merch a few years back? Its seems that as soon as the mainstream media attaches itself to an “extreme” athlete due to their talents, the grass roots enjoyer of their sport turns on them. Its backwards indeed.
