That was sick, Marc. I wasn’t paying much attention to the board, the snow looks unreal. You guys still getting good snowfalls over there? How did you like the board?

That was amazing!!! Love the 2nd part in particular - looks so so good.

What resolution is that on the gopro, 960P? I have been using my mates gopro a bit lately and I’ve noticed that although the widescreen 720P is really nice you can’t really get the board in the picture and where you are headed. However, in that clip the view was much taller, and much better.

I’m sure he’s using 960p there.

Yeah had another sick pow day last Thursday. It was warm then cold for a few days now it’s warm again. The backcountry has seemed to have reset itself which is good. It was really unstable for a couple of weeks. A guide and 2 of his friends were killed in an avy last sat.

Yes, I had it on 960p. It’s all I use now. At first I used the 720 60fps setting for the slow motion but editing on my computer is really slow so I just throw a few clips together with no effects, add music and that’s it. I’m looking forward to rebuilding my computer this summer to get some more power and be able to actually edit.

re: the charlie slasher
It’s got a great shape and floats great. Rides well on groomers too. The only negative for me is the waist width. The 164 has a 260 ww and it’s a little sluggish edge to edge for my size 10 ion w/ shrinkage. I alternated with my 252 ww rossi experience on that day and liked it better. The Charlie would be great for someone with big feet though. I didn’t like the extruded base.
Conclusion: It’s a sick board, but imo I just happened to have a sicker board (experience)

I have the next year’s (2011) Charlie Slasher 158. It’s got a WW of 256mm, and with my size 11 feet it’s a reasonable balance between pow float and groomer turnability. They now have sintered bases too. Sure it’s an awesome pow board, but that’s to be expected - where it really surprises is cutting through chop, it punches like Chuck Norris!

I miss Japan.
