I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a real entry level snowboard with an extruded base. Look for something with a sintered base.
Read through this thread: https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/2669/ (make sure you also read finney’s review).
There’s only one of these left (Shadow graphic). I can get it at 40% off for you through STM (includes an extra 10% discount for Boardworld members). Plus you will get your tax back at the airport, bringing it down to almost $400.
This is the type of board I’d be looking for. I’m taking one board to Japan next season and I’m almost certain this will be it.
I’ll be bringing my Chemical Storm over there as well. If you end up riding at the same time as me, I’d be more than happy to give you a go on it.
not sure how to multi-quote on here? so many good replies!
Will probably be mid-late Feb now as this works better for my brother. We might do a night in Tokyo on the way back, and considering most of the Sydney flights don’t depart until 8pm+ then it would really be like a day & a half there. I’ve had a pretty good look at Japan last time I was there, right from the south to the north, but realistically we won’t have time to look everywhere.. so i’m thinking shinjuku for a night with some local trips (shibuya, akihabara, roppongi, etc…)
Re The Lab.. with the twin room do you get an ensuite?
kind of uncertain about running a cambered board there now… would like something like a skate banana but can’t really justify the cost as i don’t really need a board for pow considering most of the riding would be here in aus.. hmmmm
Not sure about the ensuite. Personally if I have to go in a communal area, it makes me shower quicker etc and therefore spend more time on the snow
Thought i woudl post this as it is a good deal for you

Thanks for that Ozgirl, the deal looks great.
Has anybody here done the Sydney > Tokyo flight with Jetstar? If so, what are they like with snowboard bags? I’ve got a burton wheelie gig bag (166) and wondering if that would get through as standard checked luggage…

I haven’t done the trip yet but I’ll be taking my snowboard gear with me on jetstar. If you have a look through their website they have a section on checked baggage and I’m pretty sure there’s a section on snow gear there.
You just have to make sure you purchase enough KG to cover your gear plus luggage.

Thanks. Just checked it out on their site. The A320 can take anything up to 1.9metres, and the A330 up to 2.77 metres.. perfect.
Wheelie Gig… that reminds me…. Rider oh Rider…... where are you???
Hey Busta - I’ve got the same bag as you… never had troubles with it!
Wheelie Gig… that reminds me…. Rider oh Rider…... where are you???
Call me and we’ll organise it.
Sorry, I totally forgot.
finally all locked in! :D
We’ll be in Hakuba from the 28th of Jan to the 4th of Feb.. can’t wait! Staying in Echoland so would be great to meet up with any boardworld members if you’re in the area at that time
Also, I couldn’t justify buying a full on pow board as 99% of my snow time will be here in NSW so it wouldn’t really be needed. Instead I went with a park board (Gnu Park Pickle) that according to many owner reviews floats really well in powder and isn’t too shabby around the mountain.. I wouldn’t mind hanging around the park a bit more anyway so it will be a good compliment to the uninc which is better for bombing the hills on..
Now it’s just a matter of counting down the days!
Thanks for all the help
