Great stuff, mate! Keep it up!
Cheers bro! It definately helps skating with better skaters. Some of the guys i believe were riders that have/had been sponsored before. Great blokes.
Good stuff K2! Its always good to skate with the people at the park, its more fun and they can teach you stuff. I might head down to the park today.
Nice one K2!
That’s a pretty big list of tricks to get down again after stopping skating. That’s rad.
I’m inspired for a skate tomorrow even if I have a million weekend kids to contend with.
Cheers guys. Dont think that I have all of these in the bag, that is just what I landed in the games of skate. Not landing them all the time, but good to know I ca do them.
Just get out early tomorrow Andy and get a few hours out b4 the crowds come in. Thats what I’ll probably do
Nice as day for a skate in Melb today, gonna jump on the board for about the first time in a month n see what happens
Should probably update my ambulance cover before I leave the house..
^^
Saturday was pissing down so I had ruled out skating till my mate called and said they were headed to Rampit indoor park. Didnt even know it existed. Indoor park in Mitchem. Not a bad place. Lots of good features but the obvious problem was the crowd. I couldnt believe it when I walked in. A billion scooters, and BMXers and a few skaters. It was ridiculous how many people were there. Didnt get a good skate in for the first hour or so. Luckily they gave us passes for the next session as well because it was so busy and we arrived halfway through the current sesh.
Progression wise, not heaps new. Just gettin better on riding the whole park. Got some good front and back noseslides. Still not super consisten though. Lots of manuals on different height/length pads which was fun.
Was workin on my kick flips and was still strugglin to get the catch. Could land them if I hardly poped and did the flick down, but I want to be able to do them with big pop and flicking out and catching high. I just like that style more. Getting close. Just the catch.
My mate and I were gettin frustrated a bit cos I was so close. Out of the blue I thought I’d try a fakie flip (fakie kickflip). Landed it first shot. Tried again. Landed again.
So seems I can fakie flip but cant kickflip
Nose slides?? Fakie Flips?? Stop being awesome. You’re making the newbies look bad
haha, Still a newbie mate but for the second time which helps. None of this im landing every shot. But definately feeling confident with them
Andy, did you guys hit up Monster park?
I’m with Andy on this one!
I went for a skate yesterday and just practiced heelflips. I managed to land another heelflip but slipped out :(
I also was practicing my ollies by jumping my old deck by laying it with the wheels and graphic pointing up. I can ollie this easily but when I flip it over I can’t
Its just some psychological fear thing I guess, I almost ollied it a couple times so I’ll eventually get it
When you say you cant ollie it at the higher point (turned upright) are you landing on it or hitting it on the way up or not getting enough height in general?
I always tend to bail out mid air when I attempt to ollie the deck grip side up, probably because I’m not committing. When I ollie the board when it is facing graphics side up I think my ollies are high enough to clear it if it were on its side (primo). I have the same problem when ollieing up curbs and onto boxes. I think I need to commit more, because my mate has told me that they definitely have enough height and distance to clear decks and get onto curbs and boxes. I should upload a video or something later.
Yeh I know what your saying. I find a lot of things in skating just requires commitnent and it comes sooner and easier than you think.
