The Art of Skateboarding - Facilitating Prosperity

Three Sixty Project launches ONE x ONE x ONE, a traveling art exhibition developed in the aim of generating funds to fuel projects that benefit underdeveloped youth markets globally.

Heading to three of Australia’s skateboard capitals Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, and with artwork curated in a collaborative effort by Qwux (Rah Collective), Josh Thorsen (Kid9) and Just Another Agency, the show will exhibit 55 skateboard artworks designed by a range of prolific Australian artists including Ben Brown, Bennett, Rebecca Murphy, Mr Singh, Cupco and Mia Taninaka, of which when sold, all profits will go into youth community projects.

The concept of art and skateboarding is nothing new, as both have long gone hand-in-hand as popular forms of creative expression.

“As a kid I always loved skate graphics – the whole outlaw, do it yourself vibe of skating extends to music, lifestyle and of course, art. Some of the most creative and influential graphics in popular culture and life scrawled on a skateboard deck. I’m always trying to make the graphic look as nuts as I possibly can – super stupid, funny an cool,” comments artist Ben Brown.

The event features some of Australia’s best artistic talent and is supported by uprising galleries Lo-Fi (Sydney), No Vacancy (Melbourne) and 19Karen Gallery (Gold Coast) bringing together the art and skateboarding communities in an atmosphere that encourages the cultivation of expression and philanthropy.

Successful project implementations by Three Sixty Project to date include the Elevate Youth Centre – Bali Indonesia, SkateistanPnom Penh Cambodia and One Friday Skate Ministry Philippines (please see attached for further details).
