The Vans Pool Party is widely regarded as one of the premier bowl contests in world skateboarding, and the iconic Combi Bowl never fails to deliver the absolute best from the world's elite. This year was the 12th edition of the annual event, and with more skaters and tighter competition than ever, it went down as one to remember.
Pedro Barros claimed the pro division title with his trademark speed, power, and monstrous aerial height – sending hammer after hammer back-to-back in some of the most heated runs the bowl has ever seen. Victory didn't come easy, though, with the likes of Cory Juneau and the ageless Bucky Lasek coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Bucky was particularly impressive with his array of technical lip moves, often hitting a string of switch tricks throughout the bowl.
The elder statesmen were split into two separate divisions this year – masters and legends – with the most well-known old boys grouped in the legends division. Lance Mountain claimed 1st place ahead of Steve Caballero and Chris Miller, who rounded out the legends podium with 2nd and 3rd respectively. Darren Navarette, who'll surely compete as a legend in the near future, took home 1st place in the masters event.
