Thrasher has officially named its final 8 contenders for the 2017 Skater of the Year award, and it's truly one of the closest battles in recent years. We reckon Louie Lopez, Jamie Foy and Tiago Lemos are the three frontrunners, but you couldn't completely rule out the likes of Riley Hawk or T-Funk from contention.
Louie had two great covers, won Tampa Pro, and dropped two amazing parts this year – but Foy handled El Toro and claimed a similar amount of coverage. Tiago, meanwhile, completely changed the way we perceive ledges with his unimaginable pop, and arguably had more of an influence on the world of skateboarding than anyone else.
