THPS 1 & 2 Are Being Remastered

We knew something was brewing in the THPS universe, but now it's official: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 are being fully remastered for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Vicarious Visions is in charge of the remaster project, the same studio behind the recent Crash Bandicoot remasters, which gives us a glimmer of hope that this might not totally suck. And, truth be told, the announcement trailer looks pretty good. The visuals are decent, at least. But as any THPS player knows, the physics are the biggest point of contention. If we get THPS5-style physics, forget it. Here's hoping for the best.

The remastered titles are dropping September 4th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Every original member of the legendary roster is returning, with new sponsors and new looks, along with every level – School II, Warehouse, Venice Beach & Downhill Jam, to name a handful. Apparently, not all of the original soundtracks will be available due to licensing issues, which is a bit of a bummer but somewhat understandable.

They're also doing online and all that jazz – IGN goes into further detail in their gameplay video below. We're pretty excited about this one. Come on, Tony. Don't let us down again.
