The Gold Coast's "superbank" has been absolutely firing of late, with plenty of surfers claiming that conditions are the best this golden stretch of sand has ever seen. One of those surfers is Mitch Parkinson, Joel's younger cousin, who managed to score an incredible 7 barrels on a single wave at the break recently. The video is here, and it's nothing short of perfection.
Here's Mitch's take on this little miracle:
"Yeah, it was crazy, it was like, surreal. I was going through each section seeing one of my mates giving me the finger or something. Every time I went through a section it was one of my different mates heads popping out at me screaming or giving me the finger and, yeah, it was a once in a lifetime wave I guess".
Wouldn't mind a piece of that!
