Two perfect 20 heats for Aussie Wright

Aussie Owen Wright has again made history at the Fiji Pro, latching onto an unfathomable second 20-point heat in as many days — this time in the final against Julian Wilson.

Nobody has ever achieved two perfect 20s in the same event, and Wright joins only Kelly Slater and Joel Parkinson on the list of surfers to have nailed two perfect heats in tour history.

Taj Burrow also progressed to the final four along with Frenchman Jeremy Flores, in an epic event for Australians. Kai Otton was knocked out in the quarter finals by Flores, preventing an all-Aussie semi, but he still took the biggest leap in rankings thanks to his giant-killing performance in Fiji.

FINAL RESULTS:

1st: Owen Wright (AUS)
2nd: Julian Wilson (AUS)
3rd: Taj Burrow (AUS)
3rd: Jeremy Flores (FRA)
5th: Kai Otton (AUS)
5th: Joel Parkinson (AUS)
5th: Italo Ferreira (BRA)
5th: Wiggolly Dantas (BRA)
