Instagram is a crazy beast. With tens of thousands of skate-related posts uploaded to the 'gram each week, it can be hard to keep track of the good stuff. Thankfully for you, Boardworld recently hired hundreds of specially trained monkeys to scour the deep depths of the internet and bring you the best skate videos from Instagram every week. And it begins right here.
Got a video you think we missed? Or do you have your own video you think we should check out? Use @boardworld to tag us on Instagram, or use #bwskate to tag your own videos or photos. We'll view them all, and if we think they're good enough to post, we'll post 'em.
This one makes the list purely due to the fact that new Chris Roberts footage is rarer than an albino toucan. It's always a pleasure to watch Chris' glorious style in motion, and this video from Brandon Biebel's park sums up exactly why Chris is a true crowd favourite. And that first trick is giving us some serious Chocolate Tour 1999 nostalgia attacks. Thankfully, it looks like Chris has been skating Brandon's park a lot more lately, which should mean more C-Rob footage in the future.
As a skateboarder, there's no better feeling than overcoming some sort of added obstacle. Whether it's security, skate-stoppers, shit weather or needing to be home for mum's spaghetti bolognese, conquering something extra makes a trick a lot more satisfying and fun. This video features Phil Zwijsen making the most of some wet conditions, and doing it in style. This looks super fun.
Cody Whitt has made a name for himself as someone who can pull off pretty much any technical trick, no matter how impossible it seems. This time he's blown us away with a trick we've never seen before -- a nollie heelflip, late...double footed hardflip? Pressure flip? Who even knows. It's some proper warlock shit, we'll give him that. Cody is a freak.
It's only our first Instagram roundup ever, but we can already envision Daewon Song making the list almost every week. Heck, he could have made it three times this week alone, but we had to narrow it down to one. Daewon's latest Intstagram extravaganza features three "triple" tricks -- a recent triple flip to grind in his mini ramp, a triple crooked grind from a Berrics part in 2012, and a triple picnic combo from Almost Round 3 back in 2004. Check how loose his tricks are in the second clip...madness.
This one comes from our European friends at Jart Skateboards, and it features young Adrien Bulard being thrown around by an out-of-control security moron, followed by a proper series of hammers at the very same spot. We like to imagine he did the tricks after fending off the crazed security guard, because that's a funny narrative. Either way, this slides into number one simply for it's hilarity and absurdity backed up by a couple of solid handrail hammers. We reckon Adrien handled the situation pretty well.
We're not sure who this guy is, or what on Earth he was attempting to achieve here. Was he trying to roll away on grass? Either way, he made an absolute fool of himself, but to his credit sprung immediately up and saluted his own stupidity in that "I'm totally not embarrassed" type of way. He certainly gave us a good laugh anyway, and we couldn't keep this off the list. Kudos to you, moronic stunt guy.
