Highlights: Adriano de Souza Tops John John Florence
Adriano de Souza has solidified his spot atop the WSL World Tour Rankings, as the current world number 1 steamrolled his way to victory at the 2015 Margaret River Pro in Western Australia this morning.
The Brazilian veteran took down the likes of Kelly Slater and Taj Burrow on his way to the final, where he fought off a late surge from John John Florence to claim his first WSL victory of the season, and go nearly 8,000 points clear of Mick Fanning in the world title race.
In the women's event, American Courtney Conlogue upset the favourites on her way to a shock victory, downing compatriot Carissa Moore in the final. Australia's Stephanie Gilmore remains third in the title race, despite withdrawing with injury, while fellow Aussie Sally Fitzgibbons finished third in the Margeret River event.
