Round 2 Highlights:

The Fiji Pro has kicked off at Cloudbreak, where competitors were met with mixed conditions over the opening 2 days. Gabriel Medina's poor run of form appears to be subsiding, after the Brazilian hammered out a classic 9.23 ride to claim top spot in his round 1 heat and gain automatic entry into round 3. 4-time Fiji Pro champion Kelly Slater couldn't quite get going in round 1, but was back to his blistering best with a near-perfect 9.93 on his way to a comfortable round 2 victory over Jay Davies.

Kelly Slater's 9.93 Ride:

The upset of the event so far was wildcard Dane Reynolds' shock round 2 victory over world number 4 Josh Kerr, as the Australian struggled to make the most of decent conditions on the second day. The rest of the Aussie contingent was in better form however, with Mick Fanning, Taj Burrow, Ace Buchan, Kai Otton and Owen Wright all advancing to round 3. Joel Parkinson will line up to finish round 2 when the event resumes.
