10-Year-Old Ethan Copeland

Getting to know Australia's pint-sized shredder

When 10-year-old Ethan Copeland lined up alongside the likes of Tony Hawk and Pedro Barros at this year's General Pants BOWL-A-RAMA Bondi, you might have been forgiven for thinking he was a young fan who had wandered into the riders' area in search of an autograph or high-five from one of his heroes. Instead, young Ethan was preparing to become the event's youngest ever competitor — turning out in the Under 16 division to compete against skaters who were far older and more experienced than him. He wasn't there to make up the numbers, though, because he blew everyone away in claiming a deserved 3rd place finish.

His amazing result at BOWL-A-RAMA was certainly no fluke, as this video proves. The pint-sized Canberra native has been dishing out hammers for years, and he's not only got prodigal talent, but he's got a good head on his shoulders too. This kid is the future of Australian skateboarding. Hit play and get to know Ethan, hear his mature insight into skateboarding, and watch him tear apart some local parks and spots in the process. We look forward to seeing what little Ethan comes up with at the Australia Bowl-Riding Championships in Newcastle this weekend. You little ripper!
